Wonderful hip hop history tour

Really wonderful way to learn all about the origins of hip hop as you wander the streets where it all started. Mike C was an incredible guide, his commentary was very entertaining and easily followed by the kids. This was a highlight of our week in NYC!

The most fun and educational tour of hip hop and Harlem!

It was a very enriching experience. The guide made sure that you will keep the data he explained but in an incredibly enjoyable and very fun way. Even with hip hop music in the background!! We highly recommend it and would even repeat with it.

History, Culture, and Great Storytelling

Mike C did an amazing job bringing the history of hip hop to life. His knowledge and storytelling made it easy to understand not just the music, but the culture and its impact. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring Uptown while learning something new and meaningful along the way. It was both fun and educational—definitely worth it!

If you are truly into Hip Hop this is not the tour for you

A total joke of a tour. On an off a 'luxury bus' every 5 minutes to take photos of some badly painted mural of a dead rapper shot by gang members. No substance. We went to the Yankees Stadium.. no idea why? We were seconds away from genuine hip hop landmarks which were just driven by. Our host 'Razer' was tireless in the pursuit of his own worthiness. He used racist tropes and told us white folk we would not last 10 seconds in the bronx unless we had his escort. Divisive, expensive, self-serving and outright boring. If you're into Hip Hop and want to remain so. Do not take this tour

Operator response

We’re sorry the tour didn’t meet your expectations. Our experience explores the Bronx through its hip hop roots, murals, and neighborhood context. We understand some guests hope for a deeper focus on specific landmarks, and we appreciate the feedback. We’re also sorry to hear the guide’s tone didn’t resonate with you. We aim for every guest to feel comfortable and engaged. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

Fun to do!

Mike C showed us around and told fun and interesting stories about the history of hip hop. Unfortunately the Apollo was closed due to renovation.

Operator response

Thank you for choosing Hush Tours. Hopefully, when you return the Apollo Theater will be open.

Book the tour, ask for Rayza to be your guide

We had a fantastic experience on our Hip Hop tour. Rayza was our guide for the day and his energy, passion and enthusiasm was just incredible. We got to see the key places and learn about the history of Hip Hop. From a living breathing MC. We were also treated to some impromptu performances along the way. Rayza treated us like family and was a fabulous host 😀

Operator response

Thank you. Rayza is amazing!

Mike C is a legend!!

Throughly enjoyed the 2 hour HipHop walking tour of Harlem & the Bronx today. My husband and 18yr old son are both big music fans so it was the ideal way to spend a morning. Our guide Mike C was fantastic, as someone who clearly grew up rubbing shoulders with many legendary HipHop artists he was cool, hugely knowledgeable and had us crying with laughter more than once. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with a ounce of interest in HipHop culture 😎 👌

Operator response

Harlem's own Mike C, thank you for exploring with us.
