It was a great tour and our guide was easy to converse with and informative. I wish i could you move review if we would have gotten our photos. The guide said it may take 10 days to two weeks.
Friendly and warm tour guides. Learned a lot about the palace and history. Chose to rent hanbok which made the experience even more immersive. Photographer took photos at a variety of spots on the palace grounds. Not sure why not at the main palace but guessing they chose strategic quieter places. Can’t wait to see the photos! Highly recommend!
What an amazing morning! James, Jacob and Andrew were fantastic, informative and entertaining guides. We learned a lot about Korean history and had fun for the whole time - and they found us nice, shady, uncrowded spots to take pictures. I highly recommend this experience!
I had such a great a great morning. It was the perfect combination of photos and history with a few laughs in between. Our guide and photographers (yes there were 3 attending to our group of 10) were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. So much so, I booked another tour with them.
This was a fun experience as a first timer in Korea. We learned a lot about the palace and enjoyed trying on hanboks. Tour guide and photographer were easy to talk to and informative! :)
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! James and Andrew were outstanding guides for the Gyeongbokgung Palace and Korean History Tour. Their knowledge of Korean history was truly impressive, but what made the experience exceptional was their ability to bring the stories, traditions, and history to life in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. I especially enjoyed wearing hanbok. I felt so beautiful. We were taken to the Yes Hanbok shop for fast & friendly selection of our hanbok. After we were dressed, our hair was done beautifully with adornments at the shop. I loved the experience! Throughout the tour, James and Andrew were warm, friendly, patient, funny, and incredibly passionate about sharing their knowledge. They welcomed questions and provided fascinating details that you simply would not learn by exploring the palace on your own. Their enthusiasm for Korean culture and history was contagious and made every moment enjoyable for everyone. An added bonus was their professional photography expertise. They knew all the best locations and angles throughout the palace grounds and helped capture beautiful photographs that will serve as wonderful memories of our visit. The photos looked fantastic and made the experience even more special. If you’re visiting Seoul and want a deeper understanding of Korea’s rich history while also getting amazing photos, this is the tour to book. James and Andrew went above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience. Their professionalism, kindness, historical expertise, and photography skills make them an incredible team. I would without hesitation take another tour with them and I recommend them highly to anyone visiting Korea. Five stars isn’t enough—this tour was one of the highlights of my trip!
A must book for anyone visiting Seoul! The hanbok shop was super easy and organized. James, Jacob, and Andrew were the best and so very genuine. They made us feel so welcome and presented the history in great detail while keeping it interesting for even my kids to appreciate and remember. The photos are absolutely stunning! Learning games and a traditional dance was such a highlight for me! They also talked to my kids about music and food, just a genuine conversation not rushed or planned, which showed they cared about the people not just the tour.
James, Jacob and Andrew did a FANTASTIC job! If you’re only going to do one tour in South Korea, this is the one you need to do! :)
We booked our tour through viator and we had Andrew and Jacob. Andrew spoke English and translated for Jacob. Jacob took most of the photos. Short review ~ Both were very kind, pleasant, informative and funny!!! We went for family photos and they took a lot of single shots and couple shots which we didn’t really seek so that was kind of unexpected and nice. Even our kids enjoyed it very much (which we did not expect so big thumbs up for our tour guides!) In case you want to read a long review with too many reviews….. At the time of our booking there was no sight of rain in the forecast. As we got closer to our trip the rain forecast began and as we got closer to our reservation date the rain forecast it would rain at the exact time of our tour if 1-5pm!!! I messaged them prior with many concerns but someone messaged me back through the viator messaging and reassured me that they can work with the weather and everything will proceed as planned. Worried we still went. Boy are we so glad we did! Someone met us at the station as written in the itinerary and walked us to the hanbok place. They helped my kids and I pick our hanboks and they matched my husband to mine. I didn’t expect much for the hair service mentioned but man I’m so glad we did this because the hair was done so nicely or much more nicer than expected; they accessorized the hair pins and all. As we were getting ready to leave with our tour guides the rain poured. But they reassured us the rain would pass and it did after maybe 20 min. The hanbok rental place provided clear umbrellas to use free of charge so that was nice. Oh they also had lockers so you can leave all your stuff (also included) there as you leave for tour. We took what I’m assuming an alternate route due to the rain (through the subway) then went to the national museum. Jacob and Andrew were fun and informative and even our kids enjoyed it very much! We took pictures at the beginning, some in the middle and most at the end. The palace was a lot more grand and had multiple buildings. So they took us to different areas and some areas were very secluded and nice picture spots. We took a water coffee break at the nearby on campus cafe shop. I highly recommend booking you Gyeongbokgung palace tour and photos with Andrew and Jacob. I’ll update this review if needed after I view our final edited photos. But from what Jacob showed us on his camera I already know they will be amazing and we can’t wait to see them!! My friend who is from Korea was trying to convince us that we might have overpaid and that we can rent hanbok on our own and get own photographer and spend less. But I wouldn’t change a thing. This package made it so easy and our hanbok was beautiful, love that the hair and locker was included, and our guide and photos also amazing ~ so worth every penny to not have to book it all separate and try to find good photo spots on our own. I highly recommend booking with them!!
We had such a wonderful experience today, from dressing up in traditional attire to having our photos taken. The tour guides were incredibly passionate about sharing their history, culture, and heritage, which made the experience even more special. Today was particularly meaningful for my sister, who absolutely loves this era of history. She looked like a queen and was truly in her element. Thank you again for creating such an amazing and memorable day for us. We will cherish these memories for years to come. ❤️
