Amira was wonderful. She really immersed us in the Egyptian culture. She was friendly and really explained the museum very well. The driver was amazing as well. He was friendly, very safe, and knowledgeable. He also helped us enjoy Egyptian culture and introduced us to Egyptian music!
The driver (Said Elsayed) arrived at the agreed time which pretty much set the mood and mood for the days trip. I was quite skill in navigating the congested road to our destination ( National Museum of Egyptian Civilization). He was pleasant and thoughtful enough to engage in lite conversation , offering some insight into the question we asked and suggesting the best way to enjoy our short time at the museum. His suggestion didn’t have the weight as other drivers and tour guides of trying to pressure you into purchasing from vendors.
1.5 hours is enough to see everything! Tour guide was lovely and took me to some typical tourist places selling perfume and papyrus after but also drove me past pyramids!
Marwa was amazing and very kind to us. She offered so much information and made our tour something we will never forget
Pick up time was 8:00 am. Tour guide arrived at 9:30 am. It should have been a guided tour, but tour guide didn't go inside museum because, according to himself, his tour guide's licence was expired and security agent dudn't allow him inside to guide our tour. Honestly, you can go and see by yourself. Location is near downtown and everything is written in arabic and english and the mummies exhibition follows a crescent timeline. The outside area is very beautiful. If you don't have enough time, focus on the underground floor and don't waste time on textile exhibition. Tickets cost 240 EP.
The mummies but unfortunately we were unable to take photos nor was our guide able to give a more in depth explanation about each mummy
