This spectacular 16th-century Renaissance cathedral is the most iconic religious landmark in Western Mexico. I’ll share its most fascinating secrets with you! We’ll also explore the four surrounding plazas, each showcasing the beauty of Baroque, Art Nouveau, and Neoclassical architecture.
We'll visit the 19th-century neoclassical Degollado Teather and its sorrounding plazas and churches. The visit to the theather's interior depends on COVID-19 restrictions.

Diego is an exceptional guide. He is from Guadalajara and a wealth of knowledge taking us to all of the historic locations in the city center as well as a visit to the beautiful town of Tlaquepaque. Before we even met him, he shared hotel recommendations and a list of nearby restaurants that we probably wouldn't have found on our own. He is also very personable and has a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.
Thanks a lot, Pat! For taking the time to write reviews for both tours. It means the world to me!
Another AMAZING private tour with Diego! This magical town is super charming, relaxing, and definitely worth revisiting! As an avid traveler and private Chef, I love diving into the local culture and being surrounded by amazing gentes! Diego is an expert; no bs or tourist-centric experiences! 10 stars and looking forward to more tours on my next visit!
Gracias amigo! It was an absolute pleasure. I hope to see you again soon for another adventure!
Diego was a perfect guide. I spent three tour days with him exploring the historic sections of Guadalajara, the art district of Tlaquepaque, and the non-touristy neighborhoods of the very authentic Colonia Americana, Santa Tere & Chapalita. He is a wealth of knowledge and was very receptive to tinkering with his normal tours to create a personalized experience. You can't go wrong working with Diego.
Gracias Bruce! It was a pleasure! I hope our paths cross again soon!
We spent 2 days visiting Guadalajara area. This was the first time visiting this area and we decided to spend the first day with a tour guide. We spent the first day with Diego because the general schedule he listed sounded very comprehensive. We made a great choice! We found Diego to be very personable with great knowledge of both the historical and present day Guadalajara. He sent us emails before the tour to find out what special needs and questions that we might have. After the tour, he gave us advice about what to do the second day of our stay and where to eat dinner. We will highly recommend him to our friends and family. Using a Diego’s personal tour guide for the day was so much better than the standard group tour.
Thank you so much Sharon! I had a wonderful time with you and Dan, it was such a pleasure meeting you.
Incredible experience in Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque with an excellent Guide like Diego. I learned a lot and it made me fall in love with its great city and the spectacular bohemian neighborhood of Tlaquepaque. Thanks for making me enjoy myself so much. It was a great pleasure.
Muchas gracias Genaro! Fue un placer. Que sigas disfrutando México!
Diego led me around Centro and Tlaquepaque finding a great tour and history lesson. We walked at my pace as he pointed out the must see buildings, statues, and artwork. I really enjoyed the casual, not rushed tour of these areas. I can whole heartedly recommend this tour as a fantastic way the spend time in Guadalajara.
Thank you Jody!
This was an amazing tour! The art museum and food market were highlights. Diego was very knowledgeable and passionate about the local culture. All around a great way to experience Guadalajara
Thank you Susan! I hope you had a smoth journey back home!
Our tour with Diego was one of the highlights to our trip to Mexico. Diego was knowledgeable about the city of Guadalajara, where he was raised. I really enjoyed seeing all the sites and learning the history that we would not have gotten to know about if we tried this on our own, especially appreciated going to the food market where local folks go and eating authentic food, ending the day at Tlaquepaque Village with the beautiful artisan shops and quaint little village was also a highlight. Diego was like visiting family so easy to talk with and ask questions. I think the per person price was very reasonable as well.
Thank you so much!
I had an amazing tour of Guadalajara with Diego. He covered all the highlights of the city and was very knowledgeable. My favorite part of the tour was visiting Tlaquepaque which is a lovely town full of artisanal handicraft shops. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to discover Guadalajara at a leisurely pace.
Muchas gracias amigo!
