We did the "Urban Naturalist" version of the fall foliage tour up the Hudson. It was delightful. We set out on the Manhattan with a very well-informed guide. The foliage was not up to peak colors yet, but the scenery was still striking with the palisades on one side and the Manhattan skyline on the other. It was a lovely cool day. Perfect for the cruise. They provided refreshments including sodas, snacks, and portion of a submarine sandwich. The latter was an unexpected plus. We highly recommend this tour. Afterwards, we walked along the Highline up to Hudson Yards. Perfect afternoon.
Ken, thank you for booking a cruise with us and taking some time to leave your valuable feedback and recommendation. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the Urban Naturalist fall foliage tour and found our guide knowledgeable. The Hudson scenery with the palisades and Manhattan skyline is truly striking. We're pleased the refreshments and submarine sandwich were an unexpected plus, and we hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again soon! - Classic Harbor Line
LOVE LOVE LOVE Classic Harbor Line! I'm a New Yorker and once in a while I like to hop on one of their perfectly kept vessels just to leave the city for a couple of hours. It's always a calming and soul refreshing experience. The fact that you can have a glass of vino and snacks makes it all the more delightful. I'll be back very soon :)
Had a wonderful time on this tour last weekend with Conor and Sean. They were the perfect hosts. The boat is extremely comfortable; we had wonderful weather and spent most of the time on the front deck, but even if we hadn't been so lucky it still would have been worthwhile.
We went on the Fall Foliage tour on an absolutely beautiful day. We spent time on the deck as well as at the table (which since there are four of us and shared a table in the corner with another couple felt a little cramped). The guide, Gabriel Willow, is excellent. He was very knowledgeable as well as friendly and approachable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was a great way to spend the afternoon!
This was a wonderful day trip to bring my 81 year old mom to. The crew was helpful, the tour guide interesting and the view spectacular even though it was not prime peep leaf season.
EXCEPTIONAL! We did the Fall foliage tour today narrated by Gabriel Willow a Naturalist who really out did himself giving an excellent narration of the Palisades. Gabriel will be narrating until mid November. It was a little early for Fall colors but a GLORIOUS day. So glad we did not miss this. The boat is a meticulously kept and captained wood boat with very comfy , cozy seating indoors with great views. We had the extra large sliding windows open and it was about 60 degrees at a 10am sail and we could have sat there with sweaters on comfortably. We ventured out on deck and it was equally glorious and not really too cold. Two Bald Eagles spotted. The Captain and Crew could not have been more friendly. We will do this again next Fall! Heck, we might even venture out for their Christmas Carols and Cocoa Tour in December when we return to NYC.
Hello, Thank you for booking with us and taking some time to leave a review of our narrated fall foliage cruise. We are very pleased that you found the narration to be excellent along with the condition of the vessel and the service from the captain and crew. We hope to see you again soon for one of our holiday trips and other unique options such as our professionally narrated architecture tour that typically circumnavigates Manhattan! Warmly, Classic Harbor Line
I was a passenger on the GRAND PALISADES FALL FOILAGE SCHOONER SAIL (Manhattan). I attended solo; yet, I had excellent conversations with many passengers & I am glad I booked this event. The experience provided me with a different perspective of the view from the Hudson River. The crew was attentive to any passenger needs & periodically check on us. Since it was the first weekend in November, they provided blankets & were informative of the surroundings. Toward the end of the tour, many passengers agreed this was money (approx $100) well spent for 2.5-3 hours! (You had to wear a facemask if you went to the galley & into the bathroom.) One Suggestion: It would be ideal if the crew used a microphone when as they addressed the passengers on pertinent information (i.e., as the passengers' board or before they depart the schooner) near Chelsea Pier.

This is our 6th trip this season! Every one of them has been delightful. During this time of COVID and Social distancing, being out on the water in a very clean, safe environment is the best. The crews are knowledgeable and very friendly. Can’t recommend thus company enough!! The scenery is spectacular- I have lived in NYC for 30 years and never get tired of seeing the city by water. Always something new.
