Itinerary
Explore the Garden District, one of the world’s most dazzling residential neighborhoods, with knowledgeable and entertaining guides. Experience the architectural splendor of the live oak-tree lined “American” section of town and examine the antebellum era “Creole vs. American” conflict. Witness history and culture reflected in architectural styles including Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, Gothic, Georgian, Swiss Chalet, Queen Anne, and more. Highlights include the former or current homes of Archie, Peyton, & Eli Manning: Anne Rice, Nicolas Cage, Sandra Bullock, Trent Reznor, and John Goodman; the cornstalk fence, the death site of Jefferson Davis, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button film site, “Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies” from AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and more! [The City temporarily closed Lafayette Cemetery - tour from outside.] The Garden District Tour emphasizes history, architectural style, personal anecdotes, & tropical plant life.
We do our entire cemetery tour which is normally 20 minutes from the gates as the City of New Orleans closed Lafayette Cemetery in 2019 but we still do the cemetery tour from the gates.

David was extremely informed and made the tour fun and educational. Would highly recommend- he is a fount of knowledge when it comes to New Orleans history!
It was a nice overview of some of the homes in the neighborhood including architectural history and ownership.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable of area and history
Received a text in the am that the afternoon tour guide was sick. Asked if we could do another time, but unfortunately we could not. The organizer said they would try to find another guide. I had to text to find out that they found a guide! In the Uber to tour, the guide texts and I reply « on our way. » then several texts follow cancelling tour. Confused, quickly text asking to confirm. No reply so I ask Uber to take us to WW2 exhibit. Then I get another text that the tour is not cancelled, I’m completely confused and arriving at museum. I text back and say you cancelled tour (this is about 10 minutes before tour starts). Guide texts not cancelled . But I had already committed to plan B and Uber driver accommodatiingly takes us to museum. So guide cancels BUT does NOT refund us!! Guide should have texted participants separately to avoid confusion!!
We enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide, Randy, was very knowledgeable and added fun elements to the tour.
The guide was very well informed and he answered all questions and explained them. I enjoyed it very much.
So much information on history and fun facts about the houses and people that have purchased and renovated the homes and properties. I had no idea regarding the fencing that surrounds each property. It was definitely something im going to share and recommend!!!! Our tour guide was awesome and answered all of our questions. I would recommend his tour to anyone of all ages!!! Thank you!!!
Walking by cemetery and in the garden district. Beautiful old houses with lots of history. Make sure you bring your phone or camera for pictures. David, our tour guide, was knowledgeable & shared lots of stories and facts.
Some interesting facts shared about the area at the beginning of the tour. Very minimal information given about the cemetery, which was fairly disappointing. I passed another tour on my way back and that group was being given extensive information along with pictures by another guide. Nice basic walk around the Garden district pointing out celebrity homes.
Wear good walking shoes. The sidewalks are very old and not in good condition. Neighborhood is amazing and definitely a must see. Highly recommend this tour!
