of you’re considering this tour, just book it. It covers so much in one day without feeling chaotic. Seeing Chichen Itza in person was truly special. Our guide did a fantastic job explaining the history, the astronomy, and the cultural significance in a way that was easy to follow. The cenote was stunning — crystal clear water and a peaceful setting. It was the perfect break from the heat. We also appreciated the stop in Valladolid, which added something different to the experience beyond just the archaeological site. Transportation was comfortable and air-conditioned, which makes a big difference on a hot day. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and be prepared for a full schedule — but it’s absolutely worth it.
It's a full day trip 600km by bus. Our Guide was Daniel, driver Horhe. Important - Read the description, it's pretty honest and helpful... The Chichen Itza is one the seven world wonders so it's definitely worth the visit. I will list few negatived first 1. The bus starts picking up people at 7 am and runs for about an hour between different hotels. We had to change the bus for no apparent reason and then all busses arrived at meeting point close to La Isla shopping mall. 1 h wasted! 2. There we were put in line and they collected 765 pesos... better bring cash as they charge stupid fees for cards and USD. some people were surprised... although trip advisor describes it. 3. We did not leave the meeting site until 8:45.... so almost 2 h wasted. they could have simply included that 765 pesos fee in the ticket!!! 4. The drive was smooth thanks to professional driver, Horhe. However, they take you first to so called Mayan village... which is big waste of time! There they marinate you for another 40 min trying to sell overpriced souvenirs... then take you to a buffet charge you 100 pesos per drink, although the buffet is included... the only good thing there is a toilet...although the bus has one as well. 5. Finally, around 1 PM at the highest heat you arrive to Chichen Itza that is already full with tourist. Should have made it the first stop to let people enjoy the site while it is cooler in the morning and not so crowded!!! There they assign a different guide for Spanish /English and you go in separate groups. Inside the archeological site you are surrounded by hundreds of souvenir tents... no sure why they allow all these sellers to be within the federally preservea area... there are plenty of places to sell souvenirs outside. Our guide Bibi was knowledgeable and funny... claimed that his grandfather was working at restoration of the pyramid in 1920s... showed a lot of historical pictures of exterior and interior (nowdays you can not hop inside). Guided part continued for about 40 min and covered main pyramid, great game stadium and columns. Then you have about an hour to wonder around and take photos Around 3pm the bus leaves for cenode. Which is fun experience...though the water quality at different cenode can vary... ours was swimmable. Life vests are mandatory and cost 90 pesos. The site has bars, restroom and place to change cloth. Next stop is Vallodolid... where they give 20 min to wonder around overcrowded town Plaza with colonial church and bunch of touristy food kiosks. The only nice spot is a free museum on the second floor... has some history inside and great view of the church/Plaza... especially at sunset! The way back is 2.5 h concludes the trip. Overall experience is average.... if you know what to expect you may like it. Kids might get tired. If you're interested in history and archeological fact - look for a different tour.
We booked an excursion and never got picked up as stated on the voucher at 0700. We waited and waited 2 phone calls later they couldn’t locate the driver or operator. Called customer service and they told me they would request my refund from the vendor. I wasn’t going to take any chances so I put a credit card request for a refund for services not provided
We went as a family and had an amazing time. The kids loved Chichén Itzá, the cenote was super fun for everyone, and we had a delicious meal in Valladolid. Everything was well-organized and felt safe. A complete and stress-free experience.
An unforgettable experience from start to finish. The Chichén Itzá and cenotes tour was the perfect balance of history, culture, and relaxation. Our guide was fantastic. so knowledgeable and engaging, making the story of the Maya civilization truly come to life during our visit to Chichén Itzá. Afterwards, swimming in the cenotes felt like a dream come true: crystal-clear waters surrounded by pure nature. Everything was perfectly organized, from the comfortable transportation to the timing at each stop. This is a must-do tour if you’re visiting the area.
"An absolutely wonderful experience! From the beginning, the tour to Chichen Itza exceeded all our expectations. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating stories about Mayan culture and the secrets behind this wonder of the world. Everything was perfectly organized, from comfortable and punctual transportation to strategic stops for photos and refreshments. The visit allowed us to immerse ourselves in history in a way that we would never have managed on our own. Undoubtedly a must-see tour if you visit the region. I'd recommend it a thousand times.
The tour operator was very professional, customer service was on point and they took the time to explain everything that I needed to know before the tour. They also provided very accurate information. Minus the heat and the amount of drive time…..this was an awesome experience!!!
My husband and I fully enjoyed our day trip to Chichinitza. Everything went without a hitch. Pickup and drop-off at 7am/7pm-ish was conveniently right at our hotel. The Mayan ruins were incredible and the swim in the Cenote was so refreshing and welcomed as it was a HOT day (everybody is hot I understand)! We rented an umbrella ($5 U.S.) at Chichinitza, which was very helpful as there is absolutely no shade. The buffet and entertainment at Kula was great, as well. A quick stop at Vallodidad was also interesting. It was a 12 hour day and well worth the price!
It was overall a very good experience, even though the price that we had to pay at the end including entrance fees was quite more expensive than local travel companies in Cancún. But still we (4 girls) really enjoyed the trip. Thanks.
Good way to end my trip through Mexico, i visited the ruins of chichen with this travel agency, everything was wonderful, i took many photos, my family and i are very very happy to have know one more wonder of the world...... It wss a surprise for my parents for their anniversary !!!! 😊 I would have i liked that the group was a little smaller, since we were around 50 people, but it doesnt matter much, we enjoyed it, hight recommended
