Itinerary
A must-see viewpoint, celebrated for its wide horizon, peaceful atmosphere, and stunning surroundings. From here, you can admire some of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks while enjoying one of the city’s most breathtaking sunsets. It’s the perfect spot to pause, take in the scenery, and experience Lisbon’s beauty at its most serene and golden moment.
Foz Beach, near Sesimbra, is a hidden and unspoiled gem — perfect for those seeking peace away from the crowds. Surrounded by cliffs and natural vegetation, it preserves a raw, untouched beauty that instantly captivates visitors. Access is more challenging, usually via narrow trails or dirt paths, but the reward is a stunning landscape of open sea, soft sand, and pure tranquility — interrupted only by the sound of the waves. Ideal for nature lovers, Foz Beach offers a more authentic and serene experience than the busier beaches of the region, making it a true escape into Portugal’s wild coastal charm.
Cabo Espichel is a captivating destination that blends history with breathtaking natural scenery. It is best known for the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Cabo, a 17th-century church, and its 18th-century lighthouse that guards the dramatic Atlantic coastline. Beyond its historical heritage, the cape offers sweeping ocean views, peaceful walking trails, and a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection. It’s one of the best spots to enjoy a magnificent sunset while exploring the area’s rich biodiversity. Open to visitors year-round, Cabo Espichel appeals to both history enthusiasts and nature lovers, offering a truly unique experience along Portugal’s wild and beautiful coast.
The Castle of Sesimbra is one of the most striking fortresses along the Portuguese coast, standing proudly on a hilltop with commanding views over the village and the Atlantic Ocean. Originally built by the Moors and conquered by King Afonso Henriques in the 12th century, the castle carries centuries of history within its ancient stone walls. Inside, visitors can admire the well-preserved ramparts and the small Church of Santa Maria do Castelo. Yet, the true highlight is the panoramic view: from the top, you can see the whitewashed houses of Sesimbra, the fishing harbor, and the turquoise waters that make this region one of Portugal’s most sought-after coastal destinations. Perfect for a peaceful walk, exploring the castle offers not only a journey through local history but also the chance to capture unforgettable photos of this stunning landscape.
Capture spectacular photos of the Arrábida Natural Park, one of Portugal’s most breathtaking coastal landscapes, where rugged limestone cliffs meet the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. From its panoramic viewpoints, you’ll enjoy sweeping vistas that stretch from the white sands of Portinho da Arrábida to the distant outline of Cabo Espichel. The park is a paradise for photographers and nature lovers alike — every turn reveals a new frame-worthy scene. The contrast between the lush green hills, turquoise waters, and dramatic cliffs creates a visual harmony unique to this region. Whether you’re shooting at sunrise, under the midday light, or during the golden hues of sunset, the Arrábida Natural Park offers an ever-changing palette of colors and moods. Take your time to explore, breathe in the fresh ocean air, and let the scenery inspire photos that truly capture the wild beauty of Portugal’s coastline.
Portinho da Arrábida is one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the Portuguese coast. With calm, crystal-clear waters framed by the majestic mountains of the Arrábida range, this small natural harbor is the perfect place to relax and connect with nature. Even if you visit just to admire the view, Portinho offers a peaceful escape from the pace of the city — a place where the sea and the hills meet in perfect harmony. The tranquil atmosphere, combined with its stunning scenery, makes it an ideal stop for those seeking serenity and natural beauty along Portugal’s southern coast.
Sesimbra is a picturesque seaside town that attracts both Lisbon locals and visitors from around the world. For centuries, it has thrived as a traditional fishing village, and its charming harbor remains one of the most authentic on the Portuguese coast. Colorful fishing boats float in the bright blue waters, while the golden sandy beach stretches along the bay, framed by rugged cliffs. The town also boasts fascinating architectural heritage, highlighted by the Moorish-origin Castle of Sesimbra, perched on a hill overlooking the village and the Atlantic Ocean. A possible lunch stop is included, allowing time to enjoy fresh seafood or traditional Portuguese dishes while soaking in the relaxed coastal atmosphere.
This is the perfect spot to buy and taste the famous cinnamon biscuits known as “Esses” and the traditional Azeitão rolls. You’ll also find the unique local sweet called “Meme” — a delicacy that will leave you wanting more. (Purchases made at the customer’s own expense.)
Quinta de Catralvos, at the foot of the Arrábida Mountains near Azeitão, is one of the region’s most renowned wine estates. Surrounded by vineyards and Atlantic light, it blends tradition and innovation in winemaking. The visit includes a guided walk through the vineyards, an introduction to sustainable production, and a tasting of elegant wines — from crisp whites to the aromatic Moscatel de Setúbal. The experience is complemented by the famous Queijo de Azeitão, whose creamy texture and rich flavor perfectly match the wines. More than a visit, Quinta de Catralvos offers an authentic journey through Portuguese wine culture and the natural beauty of Arrábida.
Located in the heart of the Arrábida Natural Park, Azeitão is a charming region composed of picturesque villages such as Vila Fresca and Vila Nogueira, both of which grew around historic estates that gave them their names. A stroll through Azeitão is more than a simple walk through its historic streets — it’s a journey through tradition, culture, and local life. The village preserves a timeless charm, with elegant manor houses, quiet squares, and cobbled streets framed by blooming trees. Take time to visit the village center and taste the famous tortas de Azeitão, small sweet rolls that are a true symbol of the region. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, meet local artisans, and experience the authentic rhythm of a place where heritage and simplicity coexist in perfect harmony.

We had an amazing day with a wonderful young man named Rodrigo, who had grown up in this incredible region of this tour! He shared so much about the area beyond even the beauty our eyes were seeing. We saw a side of Lisbon, that even after numerous visits we had not seen. It as good to have a relaxing day out in the countryside & enjoy the scenery & great wine tour & tasting at Catralvos Winery!

Our guide Gabriel was incredibly informative and took us to the best spots!! We also went to the most delicious family-owned restaurant for lunch in Seisembra, and a tasty dessert place. The views were incredibly and the experience was amazing. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get away from the city, and experience more of what Portugal has to offer.

Gabriel was our Tour guide and driver who took us to the destinations. He’s a history major and knows his stuff. He was extremely knowledgeable and polite and helpful throughout the tour. The icing on the cake was his food recommendation for lunch which was a small hole in the wall restaurant called - ISAIAS. This food ( primarily seafood ) was exquisite and extremely well prepared. Super clean and delicious food. The winery pick was also outstanding - Quinta de Catralvos. Wine was so good we ordered a car from there. Overall thoroughly enjoyable and recommended this tour. Thanks GABRIEL 🙏
