The tour was good overall. Transportation was smooth and the guide was very knowledgeable—Ephesus was the highlight. The carpet‑making stop felt like a planned sales visit, and we felt somewhat pushed away from visiting the Virgin Mary site after being told it was too busy. If you pay admissions in cash, they prefer crisp bills. A solid tour with a few things to keep in mind. I’d still recommend the tour just be prepared.
We were able to be at the ruins a good half an hour before the large cruise tour busses arrived, and that gave us time to truly enjoy the ruins without the crowds. The terrace houses are an extra charge, but are very much worth it. Be aware that there are many steps to climb should you choose to do the terrace houses. The temple and library and amphitheater deserve your close observation. We also went to the house of Mary, and while I am glad we did it, I would have preferred using the time in Ephesus instead. We viewed another temple and castle outside the Ephesus ruins. Our tour guide was knowledgeable of the site, and as a cat lover, she carried cat food with her to feed the cats in the ruins. They all knew who she was!
Eren was the best guide. He took us to the places we wanted to go and even recommended us nearby spots. We had a traditional Turkish meal for lunch and it was delicious. Would absolutely recommend! Memet our driver was amazing as well
This was a great tour of Ephesus. Our tour guide took us to a school for lunch and at that place we were taken in a room for a silk rug presentation. This felt very high pressure to purchase one of these very expensive rugs. This made us feel uncomfortable. Our tour guide was great.. just decline if anything is mentioned about lunch at a school and to see silk rugs. 😊
The Virgin Mary house and ruins were interesting but hot. Lunch was delicious but then were taken to be shown how rug were made. This was also very interesting but includes a hard sell of their rugs, similar to car sales. Then the same hard sell after a very interesting lesson on leather goods. We declined what we expected to be a hard sell of “Turkish delights”. It was a very interesting day though!
First time visiting. Turkey, what a place to visit. Our main experience was in Ephesus. We had the opportunity to visit several places oriented in Hand-Crafts, (ceramic and rugs confection).
We had a wonderful tour with Yesim, she was very informative and shared so much about the history of Ephesus and about the Turkish culture and how the culture has evolved. I especially enjoyed seeing where the Virgin Mary spent her last days. Walking through the excavated ruins were such peaceful and interesting places to visit. We also had a chance to taste some of the delicious local pastries ( so gooood)!
Great tour. Knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. Fascinating ruins. Excellent transport. Options for shopping and lunch worked for us.
We had a great trip through Ephesus with Fatih our tour guide. He offered great views on history and culture of Turkey. His suggestions of sites to see and food to try were perfect.
Today was absolutely amazing with Fatih! We saw and experienced so much about Kusadasi and the history of Turkey.
