Nejd from Curio Travel was excellent! Very personal, fun, and knowledgeable. Having a separate driver so Nejd could sit in back with us was a great benefit, especially for the (slightly) hearing impaired 😁. Highly recommend. Thank you again Nejd.
Fall in love with Turkey… we enjoyed this tour the most from all our cruise tours. The knowledge Gonca shared and every experience was perfect. Private car was so comfortable always waiting for us to not have to walk too far. We never felt rushed to explore. Traveling with kids as well and we felt comfortable and taken care of. Thank you again for a beautiful experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants it all taken care of for them.
We had a great experience with our driver and guide, Nejdet. Our guide was very informative and did an outstanding job explaining and showing us the historical sites in Turkey such as the Library and House of Mary. He honestly gave us more time than we paid for and we never felt rushed... actually quite the opposite. We finished with an incredible Turkish meal and then gained an understanding of the handmaking rug process which we all found fascinating. I will say that the rug presentation ends with somewhat of a "timeshare" type sales experience (for those that are familiar with timeshare sales in the US). Regardless though the rugs are incredible and we we were all glad to get to experience the presentation while having beer and Turkish coffee. We were also presented with a short sales presentation on Zultanite. A stone I had never heard of. Nejdet made it clear to just say "no" if we weren't interested (which we did). After getting back on the ship, we heard several stories of this nature with the rug sales experience. It seems most all tours/excursions lead back to a rug sales presentation. The fellow presenting the rugs was always nice and respectful and I've always been in and around sales so if didn't make me uncomfortable but some of our fellow cruise guests, on other tours NOT this one, were upset about. I just think it is good to know going in and I have a hunch that there is some type of kickbacks going on to tour operators or at the very least they provide the free lunch there provided you take the tour. In the end this was a 5 star experience and i would enjoy a future tour with Nejdet.
Very informative tour and attentive guide. Toured Mother Mary's last known residence, some ruins, a turkish rug factory, a leather factory, a pottery factory and a nice authentic turkish restaurant. The scenery along the way was beautiful.
Our family of 9 had an awesome time on this tour. We had other family members book almost the exact same itinerary for more than double the price through a cruise. I was so happy to have had such a good time and experience for far less money. The food was excellent, and the full tour of Ephasis is definitely worth it. It's absolutely amazing.
What a great day! Melih was very nice and so knowledgeable. The air conditioned van was a welcomed relief on a very hot day. Melih adjusted the lengths of our informative presentations to suit our needs which we really appreciated. The rug making portion was very interesting. Could have done without the rug selling portion but I understand the reason behind it. The lunch was delicious!! We highly recommend this tour!
It was a very tailored tour to what we wanted to experience. Olgu was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining explaining everything and checking wait times to maximize our time at each area. He also did a great job engaging our 14 year old son.
Excellent private tour of Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary and temple of Artemis. Orkan was our guide and told us all the history, funny stories as well as Turkish customs! Highly recommend! Air conditioned van and Turkish lunch was provided. Thank you for a memorable day.
Incredible tour of Ephesus and Mary’s house. Would highly recommend. Our guide was helpful and knowledgeable.
This excursion made all of our group realized turkey was very underrated in our expectation and knowledge. Our tour guide Tez shared an incredible amount of knowledge about the history archaeology as well as assisted our group who wanted to make good purchases.
