It got us the tickets at the time we needed when another Viator operator cancelled 1 1/2 days before our trip. Near the entrance. But a little pricey. Easy to pick up tickets. I would recommend particularly if you need last minute tickets
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re really glad we could help secure your tickets when your previous booking was cancelled at the last minute. It’s great to hear the pickup process was easy and the location near the entrance made things convenient for you. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope you had an amazing trip!
The tour group was behind schedule. We scheduled in advance for a 12:00 PM tour and did not get entry until 1:30 PM. This was a self guided tour and put us behind schedule. Do the self guided tour but use another company.
Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the delay in entry and understand how frustrating it must have been, especially with a pre-booked 12:00 PM time slot and other plans scheduled afterward. Unfortunately, unexpected delays at the meeting point or entry process can sometimes affect timing, but we understand this impacted your experience. We appreciate you sharing your comments, as they help us improve our service and communication moving forward.
We paid for self guided tickets at 12pm. We got there early as suggested (11:30) only to be told to wait until 1pm.. then were asked to pay extra for guided tour that we did not want. Very frustrating as we had our day planned and had our 7 year old with us. Vatican was great… buying from viator was not.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely apologize for the delay and frustration you encountered, especially after arriving early as instructed and traveling with your young child. We understand how disappointing it must have been to have your plans disrupted and to be offered an upgrade you were not interested in. Your feedback is important to us, and we will review this situation with our local team to help improve the experience and communication for future guests. We’re glad to hear you still enjoyed the Vatican itself and appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
Booked for 4:00, turned up at 3:40 like advised and was told that our booking had been changed. Unaware of this we were offered a 5 oclock ticket and no refund. After a while of going back and forth eventually we accepted the 5 oclock ticket which then changed to 5:15 then to 5:30. Customer service was horrendous as nobody spoke english and the guide was fast asleep on the sofa. The employees laughed at us and consistently tried to get one over us. Having had many experiences with scam activities, this was obviously a scam and I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting and frustrating this situation must have been. Changes to entry times should always be clearly communicated in advance, and we apologize for the confusion and delays you encountered upon arrival. We are also concerned to hear about your interaction with the staff, as this does not reflect the level of professionalism and service we aim to provide to our guests. Your comments have been shared with the local operations team for further review and investigation. We appreciate you taking the time to bring these issues to our attention and sincerely regret that your experience did not meet expectations.
This is basically so you can get your ticket without waiting in line. Which you def need to do. Unfortunately the place where you need to go to get them is not marked. We could not find a sign on the outside of the building. When we took the chance to go inside one of the businesses, We actually stood in the small office to get our tickets but went to the wrong desk. They told us it’s next door. Well we went next door but in reality all we had to do was turn around. The guy was sitting right behind us and he didn’t have a sign with the name of the company. At least he walked up the street and pointed to the crowded area to show us where we had to go to get in line. It’s very confusing. A picture would of helped.
Thank you for sharing your experience—we’re really sorry for the confusion you encountered when picking up your tickets. You’re absolutely right that the office can be difficult to locate, and we understand how frustrating that must have been, especially when trying to avoid long lines. We sincerely apologize for the lack of clear signage and directions. Your feedback is very helpful, and we are actively working on improving our instructions and adding visual references, such as photos, to make the process clearer for future visitors. We’re glad our staff was ultimately able to point you in the right direction, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know where we can do better.
everything went smooth, line moved smoothly, service was great, would recommend to all who are going to Rome
Thanks
My family and I had WiFi issues and we got lost several times on the way. The Vatican is strict about their 30 minute grace period (we were 40 minutes late). Thankfully the Viator guides got us in! I’m so thankful. It’s so worth getting this booking so they have your back!
Phenomenal tour. Only issue was fining the location to pick up our tickets. Not their problem…google maps and IMAP’s kept taking me in circles. Once I found the location, they were kind enough to walk me up the street and show me which line to join for our assigned reserved tour time.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear you had a phenomenal tour. We’re sorry to hear about the trouble finding the meeting point—technology can definitely be tricky sometimes! We’re glad our team was able to assist and guide you to the right spot. We truly appreciate your patience and hope the rest of your experience was just as enjo
