Fun tour to penguin colony and nature park

Nice tour, only with too many people in a too old van, should have gotten a 4x4, but was too busy according to provider. No discount

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the tour itself and the locations visited. Our excursions are operated using both 4x4 vehicles and minibuses, depending on group size and availability on the day, which is outlined in our tour information. On busy cruise days, vehicles are allocated to ensure all guests are accommodated safely and on schedule. While we understand your preference for a 4x4, the experience, route, and time spent at each site remain the same, and our focus is always on delivering a well-paced and enjoyable tour with knowledgeable local guides. We appreciate your comments and thank you for joining us during your visit to the Falkland Islands.

Summer day in the Falklands

On one of the last days of summer, we experienced the weather and strong winds - sun, rain, sleet, sun - all in the same day. Our driver, Lincoln, took us to Bertha's Beach, Gypsy Cove and a drive thru of Stanley. We were able to see some Gento and a King penguin s well as take in the plant life during a walk at Gypsy cove. Overall a pleasant day. The only surprise - read the literature closely. We thought we would be in a car with another couple, but instead we were in a mini-bus with 12.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us — we’re very pleased to hear you enjoyed your day exploring Bertha’s Beach, Gypsy Cove, and Stanley, and that you were able to see both Gentoo and a King penguin despite the ever-changing Falklands weather! We’re also glad Lincoln made the day enjoyable and informative while navigating the challenging conditions — sunshine, wind, rain, and sleet all in one day is very typical here. Regarding group size, our tours are operated in small groups, typically ranging from 4 to 12 guests, and are most often conducted in minibuses. When bookings are very limited, tours may occasionally be operated in a car. We do aim to outline this in our tour information, and we appreciate you highlighting this point for future guests. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope you take away some great memories of the Falkland Islands.

South America trip December 2025

Nice trip. Nothing extra ordinary, saw the penguins from half mile distance. They wouldn't let you get close due to different reasons, until you pay big then it's ok to walk among the penguins. Rest of South America was very impressive

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a couple of important points for future readers. The Gentoo penguin colonies visited on our tours are much closer than “half a mile”, and guests are able to observe the penguins clearly and safely from designated viewing areas. However, in the Falkland Islands we are required by local country code and wildlife protection laws to maintain a minimum distance of 6 meters from all wildlife. These rules apply to all visitors and all operators, without exception, and are in place to ensure the long-term protection and well-being of the penguins. We do not allow guests to walk among the penguins, and there is no option to pay extra to do so. All guests pay the same standard tour price and are treated equally, in full compliance with local regulations and responsible tourism practices. We appreciate your visit to the Falkland Islands and are glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of your South America trip. Thank you again for your feedback, which helps us continue to improve and to clearly explain what guests can expect when visiting such a sensitive and protected wildlife environment. Kind regards, Rob

I can’t remember if I...

I can’t remember if I booked this as a small group tour but there were just 3 of us in a 4x4. Our tour guide Cheech was one of the most informative, very pleasant, accommodating guides I have ever encountered on a tour. I learnt a lot not only about penguins but life living in the Falkland Islands. I wish I could have a guide like Cheech on all my tours

Operator response

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We’re really glad to hear you had a great time and that Cheech made your tour so enjoyable and informative. It means a lot to us that you learned not only about the penguins but also about life in the Falkland Islands. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back again in the future.
