Excursions to the caves of Santa Maria di Leuca

Anna is an affable and helpful host, always on the ball despite the peak season. Ivo is a nice old sea dog with whom it is easy to empathize. They made the experience pleasant in a natural setting of certain value.

We have already been on several boat tours, but this tour really left a lasting impression. The landscape, the caves, and the crystal-clear water were beautiful – but what really made this excursion special was our guide Ivo. Ivo is not only incredibly likable and competent, but above all a person who respects his guests and wants to provide them with a safe and relaxed experience. While other boats traveled over large waves at high speed and literally shook their passengers, Ivo deliberately reduced the speed. One immediately noticed that the safety and well-being of his guests are more important to him than any minute of time saved. For that, he deserves a big compliment and my full respect. The absolute highlight of the entire tour for me was the snorkeling. The water was crystal clear and the underwater world simply beautiful. Together with the caves, that was an experience that I will not soon forget. I especially liked that we had enough time to swim, snorkel, and explore the caves in peace. There was never the feeling that we were being rushed. That is exactly how a boat tour should be: relaxed, without stress, and with enough time to enjoy nature. The offered aperitif was also perfect – more than sufficient and a great addition to the tour. If I may make a small suggestion for improvement, it would only be two points – and both are really minor things: During the trip, it would be nice to have some music playing from the beginning, provided no explanations are being given at that moment. In the last hour, music was playing, and I must say: Ivo has excellent taste in music. The music fit the atmosphere, the sea, and the beautiful view perfectly. Therefore, I would find it nice if it were used earlier. Furthermore, one could remind the guests from time to time that they are welcome to ask for drinks at any time. There are certainly people like me who do not dare to ask for them. However, this should by no means be understood as criticism, but merely as a small suggestion. In conclusion, I can only say: I would book this tour again anytime – but only with Ivo as a guide. His professionalism, his patience, his consideration for the guests, and his pleasant manner make the difference. Thank you very much, Ivo, for this unforgettable experience. It was a wonderful experience, right from the start...they came to pick us up at the pier, we sailed for three hours seeing all the caves in detail...the captain explained everything in detail in various languages...we stopped twice to swim and finished with a nice aperitif in front of a fantastic sunset. I absolutely recommend it 😉
