After morning transportation hassle, everything went well. Freddy did tell us a lot of culture, and Baysen who speak mostly french was also very polite. We had chance to get ourself top of Ek-Balam, and it was super nice. After that swimming at Cenote was good idea because it was so hot day. Food was traditional mexican Tacos with different type of meat and chicken. The driver Barahona, kept us hydrated giving us water and he also drive safely. Tour was full day and it sisint felt so long after all.
There was a small issue with transportation/duration and planning, but it was a great activity.
We visited Ek Balam and a cenote tour in May 2026. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing overall. To start, we were delayed for about 30–45 minutes at a gas station while passengers were reorganized between two vans. Once we arrived at Ek Balam, the tour felt rushed and disorganized. The guide was difficult to follow, which took away from the experience. One positive was being able to climb the temple, which was definitely worthwhile. Afterward, we visited a cenote, which was one of the highlights of the tour. However, there was very little communication beforehand about what to bring. We were not informed to bring towels, and better pre-trip communication — even a simple email outlining expectations and recommended items — would have made a big difference. Nonetheless, this part of the tour was excellent. The food experience was also underwhelming. The “buffet” appeared to cater specifically to tour groups and had a very limited selection. During the meal, there were cultural dance performances accompanied by very loud drums, which made it difficult to enjoy eating. Additionally, the dancers waited by the exit for tips from guests leaving the dining area, which felt uncomfortable and somewhat forced. Overall, while there were a few enjoyable moments, I would not book another tour with this company.
As the group leader, I affirm that it is an unparalleled experience at all levels. The treatment was exquisite, and they provide a master class on the history of the Mayans.
Everything was perfect; our guides were very attentive and highly professional. We were attended by Ivonne and Estrella.
Freddy was an amazing guide, every tour was fantastic. Ek balam is a wonderful and very empty place where you can walk in the ruins. And the chichikan cenote is very good, with excellent structure
Fredy was our guide, very good was everything he said and how he accompanied us on this day. Excellent level of the cenote we went to.
