Eat Like a Local: Authentic Food Tour in Rome’s Largest Market

Description
Step away from the usual tourist paths and explore one of Italy’s largest and most vibrant markets: the Mercato Trionfale. With over 270 stalls, this local gem is brimming with colors, smells, and family stories passed down through generations. Your guide will immerse you in Roman culture, introducing you to iconic vendors and revealing the culinary secrets behind every bite. We begin with a selection of cured meats, cheeses, and the renowned porchetta. We will then taste natural wines from small, ethical Italian producers. We’ll continue with seasonal delights: from the freshest fish from the Tyrrhenian Sea to prepared dishes using local, innovative ingredients, including plant-based "cheeses" and deli cuts. You'll witness the art of handmade pasta in a show cooking demonstration and, to conclude, savor classic Roman street food: delicious arrosticini. Each stop is a unique story, with products varying according to seasonality and availability.

We had a fantastic time with virginia. She was very good about the teast of the food. We tried hand made red wines. Which was really good. You will have the all sea foods, hand made pasta, pizza and italian way to cook meat and so many things.

One of the best tour in italy i have done! The food was authentic and best quality. This tour is not only about the pizza , pasta and suptli but also a lot of old roman sea food you can try. Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 😊 We’re really happy to hear it was one of the best tours you’ve done in Italy and that you loved the authentic, top-quality food. And yes — we’re glad you noticed that it’s not just about pizza, pasta, and supplì: we also love introducing guests to the lesser-known side of Roman cuisine, including traditional seafood specialties. A big thank you for mentioning our guide as well — we’re proud to have passionate hosts who can explain the stories and traditions behind what you’re tasting.
