Itinerary
Arrive early, and you can marvel over the famous Christmas shop windows before the bus departs from a nearby location.
As you travel downtown through Lower Manhattan, you'll pass through fascinating neighborhoods with intricate histories. Your New York guide will help you understand what you're seeing.
As you head through the Meatpacking District, you'll see NYC's famous High Line, a magnificent park created from an abandoned rail trestle. Come back on another day to explore it.
Finally, Brooklyn, as you emerge from the Battery Tunnel, you will see expansive views of NY Harbor. The beautiful Lady of the Harbor can be seen off in the distance.
You'll exit the comfy bus, and with your guide, explore the bejeweled and bedecked house and mansions of Dyker Heights. Street after street of adorned houses. There is nothing like it in NYC. You'll feel like a kid again!
After the Heights, you'll begin your journey back to Manhattan. A stop at Fulton Landing will allow you spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and the miraculous Brooklyn Bridge.
Back in Manhattan, after traveling through the outskirts of Soho, Chinatown, and Nolita, you'll visit Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village. There you'll see the Village Christmas tree framed by the famous arch. Off in the distance, the Empire State Building is lit for the holidays. Keep your camera ready.
You'll head up from the Village along Madison Avenue, seeing another Christmas tree in Madison Park. There are still Christmas sights, and your guide will surprise you with exciting bits of info along the Avenue. Finally, we'll arrive at the Palace Hotel on 50th Street and Madison Avenue, where you'll say goodbye to the bus and your excellent driver. With your guide, you'll walk past St. Patrick's Cathedral and over to the one and only Rockefeller Center Tree. There the tour will end. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

This tour was wonderful. Easy meeting point. It was New York's first snow so everything was beautiful.
Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour and that the first snowfall of the season made Dyker Heights even more magical. The holiday lights look especially beautiful when covered in fresh snow, and we're happy you were able to experience that unique atmosphere. We appreciate you choosing us and hope to welcome you back on another New York adventure in the future!
It was a great tour of the meat packing area and dyker heights in brooklyn!!!! I was a bit skeptical about the tour of the meat packing area but it was very interesting to hear about the changes that occured in that part of Manhattan over the years. All seen from the comfort of the bus. The Dyker Heights had some hill walking so keep that in mind. Well spent money, even the 17 yr old son enjoyed the lights.
Thank you for the great review. It’s good to hear the Meatpacking District history added something unexpected, and that seeing it from the comfort of the bus made it even better. Dyker Heights does have a few gentle hills, but the lights make the walk worthwhile—and it’s always a win when even a 17-year-old enjoys it. We’re glad you found the tour well worth it.
an amazing display of wealth and glitter in professionally lighted homes The tour was very well narrated and the buses not particularly uncomfortable well worth the money
Thank you for the review. Dyker Heights is certainly a spectacle—glitter, scale, and all—and it’s good to hear the narration and overall experience made it well worth the trip. We’re glad you enjoyed the tour.
Great tour- highly recommend! The description for the meeting / starting location should include “on the park premises”. We arrived thirty minutes early but stood on the opposite side of the park. A nice gentleman told us to cross the street and find the tour guides with vests - which we would easily seen on our own. But when we arrived a man named Fred was beyond rude. He chastised our group loudly and publicly for not knowing where to stand. Even though we were very early and would have found them. Fred is : Rude Distasteful Crass Impolite Vulgar Boorish Brash Abrasive Fred should have zero contact with the customers. He go on the bust before departure and introduces our guide and the bus driver. Thankfully he left immediately. Kevin was a great driver and he was patient in traffic. He was flexible with various tourists’ needs when it came to drop off. He was always friendly and courteous. Dave was an excellent tour guide. He really, really knows his stuff. He is a wealth of knowledge in terms of the history of New York City. We learned so much about where Santa Claus came from, who first used the word Santa, the history of Santa at Macy’s department store, and so much more! He does a great job at explaining the significance of different areas of Manhattan as well as Brooklyn. He knows Dyker Heights like the back of his hand and is very good at explaining so many fascinating details related to Christmas and Dyker Heights. We learned that the lights in Dyker Heights can be seen from outer space and so much more. We visited NYC for a week and the tour to Dyker Heights was our highlight of the entire vacation and Dave is a big reason why. If you have kids (and even if you don’t) this trip is a must while you visit during Christmas season.
Thank you for the recommendation and for recognizing what actually defines the tour: Dave’s depth of knowledge, Kevin’s professionalism, and an experience that became the highlight of your trip. As for the brief pre-departure moment you describe: that interaction lasted less than a minute and had one purpose—getting a large group assembled correctly and on schedule during the busiest week of the year in Midtown Manhattan. Clear direction in a crowded New York park is not the same thing as hostility, and efficiency at departure is what allows the rest of the evening to run smoothly. Once the bus departs, the tour speaks for itself—and by your own account, it did so exceptionally well. We appreciate your note about clarifying the meeting location wording and are glad the tour itself delivered exactly what people come to New York in December to experience.
It is a fun experience! And the tour guide gave a fabulous explanation on all the NY neighborhoods from beginning to end, talking about fun facts, historical events, things to do. Then, all the history behind the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights, from the family that started the tradition to the involvement of the whole neighborhood. At the end, a quick stop under the Brookling Bridge with beautiful views of Manhattan. Worth doing it, lots of fun. The tour guide was a true newyorker, knowledgeable and fun.
Thank you for the wonderful review. It’s great to hear the neighborhood history, city context, and the story behind Dyker Heights added so much to the experience. The Brooklyn Bridge stop is always a highlight, and we’re glad the views capped off a fun evening. We appreciate you joining us and sharing such thoughtful feedback.
Jarred was the best tour guide, very informative. He made it fun! We also got to take pictures under the Brooklyn Bridge & Rockefeller Christmas tree.
Thank you for the great review. Jarred’s knowledge and energy really do make the tour fun, and it’s nice to hear you enjoyed the photo stops at the Brooklyn Bridge and the Rockefeller Christmas tree. We’re glad you joined us.
Jared, our guide, and Kevin, our driver knocked it out of the park. My mom & I took this tour during a snowstorm on 12/26/25, and being on a heated bus with a restroom was a nice break from the cold. The size of the group was perfect (40), and it made for easy navigating in the streets of Dyker Heights. Jared will provide so much detailed info about NYC, Brooklyn, the neighborhood, the homes, and many other stories. There are a few food trucks (pretzels, hot chocolate) around for a snack. The snow made it so that we could not go to Dumbo or see the Brooklyn bridge, but we filled the time with other sights (from the comfort of the bus). Kevin can drop you off on Madison Ave nearest your hotel, or you can get off at Lotte NY hotel with Jared and see the Rockefeller tree & Saks light show, at which point Jared can take your photos. The value for the experience was unbeatable, and this was such a memorable experience for our first Christmas in NYC.
Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review. Jared and Kevin will be glad to hear they made the experience so memorable—especially on a snowy December night. It’s great to know the comfort of the bus, the pacing in Dyker Heights, and the added city insights all worked well for you and your mom. Weather can always require flexibility, but I’m glad the alternative sights and smooth routing kept the evening full and enjoyable. Ending near Rockefeller Center for the tree and lights is always a fitting finale. We’re honored to have been part of your first Christmas in New York and appreciate you sharing the experience so generously.
Overall amazing tour of Dyker Heights. Comfortable bus ride with a knowledgeable guide through lower Manhattan then taken to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn. Lots of facts along the way, very informative.
Thank you for the great review. Glad to hear the ride was comfortable and that the guide’s knowledge and commentary added value along the way. Dyker Heights is a highlight, and we’re happy you found the tour informative from start to finish.
We paid $95 for a 4 hour tour of dyker heights christmas lights. Then we were to be brought to dumbo..an erea in Brooklyn to see the Brooklyn Bridge and new york skyline and take photos..then end in Rockefeller enter to see the tree. It was snowy when we left on the tour and immediately the guide said we night have to cut the lights portion of the tour short and we would have to see if we can continue to the bridge portion of the tour abd if it's too messy and people didn't want to go see the tree at Rockefeller they could be dropped off We stayed the hour at the christmas lights then didn't go th the bridge then a number of people got dropped off earlier.....if the wheather was a problem we should have been notified abd decided for ourselves if we wanted to go.. The lights were nice but as for the rest of it..it was disappointing. I know nobody controls the wheather, but there was a bus full of people for this excursion and the company did not delivered what was paid for ..I would like some money refunded gjr this...by the way it ended up seeing 3 inches of snow..
This review does not describe our tour and is not an accurate account of events. No such weather-related changes were made on any of our Dyker Heights tours, and no guide announced that major portions of the itinerary would be cut. Our tours do not operate in the manner described here, and we did not cancel stops, selectively drop guests, or shorten the program due to snowfall. When tours run, they run as planned. Additionally, there was no tour that evening matching the sequence or circumstances outlined in this review. For that reason, it appears this review refers to a different operator or a different experience entirely. Accuracy matters—for us and for future travelers—and this account does not reflect our product, operations, or policies.
Wonderful!! The lights are stunning! The tour guide was very informative. Loved the extra picture stops of Brooklyn Bridge/Manhattan skyline and Washington Square Park.
Thank you for the wonderful review. The Dyker Heights lights really are stunning, and it’s great to hear the added photo stops—Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan skyline, and Washington Square Park—made the night even better. We’re glad you enjoyed the experience.
