Embark on a captivating adventure through Saxon Switzerland National Park! Relax in our comfortable, air-conditioned minivan with direct hotel pick-up in Dresden. As we take a scenic drive along the dramatic Elbe Canyon towards the iconic Bastei Bridge, your guide will reveal the stories and secrets that make this region so unforgettable.
The highlight of the morning is the world-famous Bastei Bridge. From its vantage point high above the Elbe Canyon, you’ll enjoy panoramic views that are nothing short of spectacular — the perfect place to capture memories and photos to treasure.
Our adventure continues beyond the iconic Bastei Bridge to the magnificent Neurathen Fortress, a captivating sight nestled amidst the sandstone landscape. Prepare to be mesmerized by yet another stunning perspective of the Bastei Bridge, and the surrounding valley with forest theater. Neurathen Fortress offers more than just panoramas. We'll delve into the medieval era, exploring the remnants of the stronghold that once housed vigilant guards. But that's not all! Brace yourselves for a fascinating journey back in time as we uncover archaeological treasures dating back 100 million years, when the region was submerged beneath a vast sea.
After exploring Bastei Bridge and Neurathen Fortress, we'll embark on a scenic drive through the Elbe River Canyon to the Czech side of the National Park - Bohemian Switzerland. Our route will wind its way through charming villages like Bad Schandau and Hřensko, allowing you to soak up the beauty of the region's architecture. We'll also keep an eye out for the historical elevator to the observation tower, a Guinness World Record holder for being the oldest elevator of its kind. We'll also cruise by Pravčická Gate, a natural sandstone arch considered the iconic symbol of Bohemian Switzerland.
Now you need to recharge your batteries, so the next stop will be a traditional Czech and locally renowned restaurant. A rich "a la carte" lunch will be a welcome and well-deserved reward. Traditional Czech and international dishes are served (including vegetarian options). We highly recommend trying Czech beer, which is one of the best in the world. This restaurant is very popular with the locals and has the best reputation in Bohemian Switzerland. We are always very welcome at this restaurant and we have a pre-booked table in the best place that will be waiting for you ready before our arrival. In addition, we have an advantage over other guests in the kitchen, so the wait for food is significantly shorter.
(Not available in Winter tour) Enjoy a peaceful boat ride along the Kamenice River, where towering sandstone walls and lush greenery create a fairytale setting. Your ferryman will share fascinating local legends as you drift through the narrow gorges — an unforgettable highlight of the national park. Afterward, a short uphill hike brings you back, rewarding you with beautiful forest views.
Immerse yourself in the labyrinth of the Tisá Rocks, where The Chronicles of Narnia were filmed. The rock town with its many towers, small squares and mysterious corners will win you over with its captivating beauty. Daniel was our guide his English was very good and he was very kind. The hike was very intense for me but most of the group did great. It was a very steep incline for 15-30 minutes. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.

I highly recommend this tour. It was such a special day and a real highlight of my overseas trip. Milan & Dalibora were excellent and the national park was stunning. While I enjoyed all the museums, galleries and palaces I went to in my trip, getting out into such a beautiful unspoilt natural setting with such incredible views & history was something that I won’t forget. The river boat also was exceptional—and lots of fun—headed by a young guide who did a great job explaining the surrounding gorge area as well as keeping us entertained. And capped off by a beautiful lunch overlooking paddocks & mountains. It’s an easy drive over the border to Czechia from Dresden and well worth doing.

It was a nice break from all the cities I've been visiting. I did have leg/knee issue the night before and after reading the reviews, I opted out of the gorge/boat part. Glad I did as fully functional people had difficulty climbing out the steep incline! Barbara did a great job accommodating me and skipping the gorge. The guide didn't know very much other than what you could have freely read about on your own. Replied more times than not, "I don't really know". Driver was good and cheerful. It was expensive transportation mostly.

This truly was such a wonderful day. Milan & Dalibora were exceptional, friendly, informative & really made the day memorable. The sights we saw in Saxony Switzerland were incredible & every one of them was a highlight. The lunch was very good, with great views to the mountains. It was an excellent escape from museum days in Dresden. The tour itself is well organized, everything on time, food was good. All as advertised.Our guide Daniel and driver-guide Vojta showed us the best places being very polite, helpful and just nice young gentlemen. Many thanks to Daniel and Vojta. From our experience: this tour is challenging for seniors( we are 71 and 73 yo). It was slippery on the way up and down. It took us half an our to get down to the river, and a little more time to go up the steep hill. We are glad we did it and are proud of ourselves. So if you are reasonably fit we absolutely recommend this tour

Make sure you’re up for a couple of challenging hikes and dress correctly—good, nonslip shoes, rain gear if that’s in the forecast (I can’t imagine doing the hikes we did, if it had been raining—it was already slippery in dry weather), wear layers if it gets too hot (it did for us). Be prepared for a long day. The scenery was beyond amazing—very beautiful and so worth the long day. The drive from Dresden to the Czech Republic was lovely, so much to see. Our first stop at the Bastei Bridge, was spectacular—indescribably breathtaking views. Our lunch was really good, great menu choices and much needed after the second stop, where we made the steep hike down to the river canyon for the boat ride and the exhausting (for us) trip back up. The next and final stop to the “sandstone park” was really interesting—the grounds were once an ancient sea and the resulting sandstone formations were so unique due to weathering and the passage of time. This place was also a bit of a hike, slippery due to sand, rocks and fallen leaves—need to be aware, but it’s a truly enjoyable and like nothing I’ve ever seen. Our guides, Barbara & Milan, were very friendly and informative—we were impressed at their knowledge desire to create a memorable trip for us.

It was perfect, I recommend this to everyone. A super chauffeur and guide who really take care of you and help you with everything. They make sure everyone feels included, and I always felt safe and comfortable. Not only were they professional, but also very friendly and approachable.
