Itinerary
Start the tour at your hotel or accommodation in Porto Downtown. Note: your address needs to be provided at booking or a few days before the tour takes place or a meeting point will be set. - PICK-UP IS EXCLUSIVE TO THE PORTO DOWNTOWN AREA. We DO NOT offer pick-up from Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, the Porto coastal area, or other locations outside the city center.
Whenever possible we stop at the city of Peso da Régua, an historical city of the Douro Valley associated with the commerce of wine. Here we provide our guests a brief explanation about the city and allow some free time for a coffee and pictures.
Quinta do Tedo is one of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. In this visit you will learn about the wine-making process of Quinta do Tedo with a local guide. It includes a guided wine tasting session where you will be explained about the different wines to be tasted. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2: Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
In the heart of the Douro Valley you will have the chance to visit Pinhão. In the past Pinhão used to be an important place for commerce and transport of the wine from Douro to Porto. The wine was first commercialized and next shipped in the traditional Rabelo boat to remain aging in Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the river in Porto. In the village of Pinhão we stop for a 1h river cruise as well as we have lunch at a traditional local restaurant. NOTE: Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
Quinta do Beijo is the second winery of several wineries that we can visit on our tour. This is a small local winery with very good wines that can not be bought in the city. The visit is usually done by the owner of the property himself while he tells you more about the production and the flavors of its wines. NOTE: wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability NOTE 2:Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.
We return to Porto from Douro Valley close to 6:00 PM, where our guide will leave you at your selected drop off point.
Most of the tour has the Douro river as the scenic scenary through the day. The wineries that are visited offer incredible views to the river.

Pickup Locations & Times
Hotel pick-up is included within central Porto. Please provide your accommodation details at checkout. If your location is outside the pick-up area, we will suggest a convenient nearby meeting point. Pick-up starts at approximately 7:50 AM and may take up to 30 minutes depending on your location. You will receive the exact pick-up time and details the day before your tour. Please be ready at the scheduled time, as delays may affect the experience for other guests.

Itinerary was perfect, and Sandro was an excellent. This was a great way to see the valley and taste some wine.
The day started at 8am when we were collected by our guide Jorge. Our first winery was for table wine which was very informative and entertaining, We had a few bottles accompanied by breads and olive oils, quickly followed by a delicious lunch of cod salad and pork and more wine. Second winery was for port wine but unfortunately the port samples would’ve gone down much better had there been some cheese or meats to go with them, so I’m docking a star for that. The river cruise was tranquil and gave us an opportunity to enjoy the amazing scenery. Jorge then brought us safely back to Porto so all in all a great day out, we learned a lot about the region and the processes and met some nice people along the way.
An absolutely incredible day touring around with our guide Tuna who was absolutely fantastic with great knowledge of the areas he took us to. The boat cruise and wine tasting as well as lunch were top quality. We had the best day and will always remember this amazing tour as one of our favourites. Highly recommend to do this tour when visiting Porto.

We had a fabulous day with this being our second time on this tour. I recommend contacting the company and booking directly for the best price. As for the tour itself, this time Joana was heaps more knowledgeable and attentive than when I previously did the tour with someone named Tiago. Joana was attentive and welcoming. She shared real knowledge from clear interest in the Duoro valley and having built relationships with the various wineries. In particular, the lunch was also excellent in an old school house, and then tasting mostly white wines atop a winery that was off the beaten path away from the riverfront. These above and beyond aspects made the trip an extremely good value for money. I would highly recommend Oporto Tours. They deliver a professional service.

Pedro did an amazing job sharing the history and art of winemaking, but also of Portugal and Porto in general. He also took care to pause for a drug store break when my friend had a bit of trouble with car sickness on the way to the vineyard. I would highly highly recommend this tour!

Douro Valley was beautiful on its own, but to experience it with the guide, Luis, made it memorable! Luis was such an informative and fun tour guide that. Nice day in the Douro I must say that we were very uncomfortable in the vehicle. My partner and I were sitting in the front next to the driver, which meant that I had the radio in my knees. Not great The guide was okay but not very friendly I had to ask him his name because he did not introduce himself, and also about our itinerary since there was no general introduction about how our day would unfold. Beautiful day nonetheless Great winery visits and the other participants were very friendly!
