This amazing tour, gives you the opportunity to visit two of the best wine estates in the region and feel the essence of being in the heart of this precious wine region. You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the wine estates and see all the wine cultivation and production process, being at the source of the Porto Wine. The "birthplace" of this unique nectar! During the tour enjoy 6 wine tastings while admiring the astonishing landscapes and serenity of the Douro Valley, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, since 2001. The guided visit to 2 different wine estates with tastings, a complete traditional lunch with Douro wines and a scenic 50 minutes cruise on the Douro River is included on this full package.

Itinerary
Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.
Welcome to the Douro Region, famous for it's valley, Unesco World Heritage site, the oldest demarked wine region with unique landscapes of vineyards and the magical Douro river giving you the perfect background for a day of amazing wine tastings.
Arriving in Sabrosa we will do our first visit of the day. We will discover the first of two wineries where you learn about the wine production and history of Douro Region, and its wines. You will have the oportunity to taste different wines before the lunch. A complete lunch will be served by the end of the visit: a full traditional portuguese meal with entrance, main dish, dessert, pairing with Douro red or white wine.
After lunch we will drive through the windy Douro roads on the way to Pinhão and we will do a quick photo stop at one of the most impressive viewpoints of the region. Enjoy the views and share with your friends and collegues on social media!
It's now time to sail! Enjoy a 50 minutes scenic cruise on the Douro river departing from Pinhão on board of a traditional Rebelo boat.
National Road 222: drive through the most beautiful road in the world Did you know that one of the most beautiful roads in the world is Portuguese? We talk about the Estrada Nacional 222, which takes you to discover the incredible Douro wine region. On our tour will pass on this amazing road and point out the most scenic views.
Our wine tour is not over yet! There is time to visit one more renown Winery. The winery expert guide will walk you through the estate ,explaining the process from the vinyard to the bottle ending with a magnificent tasting of three different types of wines.

Great full day tour. Went on my own and met some great people - had a fabulous time. Easy and clear meeting location. Had the most fantastic guide (Slimmy) and driver (Julio) - comfortable bus w/ aircon (Is very hot in Douro Valley so be prepared to sweat) Stopped in Amarante first for a short walk around the town and to grab something small to eat, then went to lunch - which was delicious. The wine & port were great and the place was so gorgeous with great servers who all had such a high vibe. Lovely & Unique experience. The drive through the Valley is just spectacular. So many vineyards & the views are incredible. Slimmy our tour guide was such a book of knowledge and was providing the group with so much rich history and culture the whole time. Stopped at a viewpoint for a quick photo! Then headed to the river for the cruise, which was lovely. Again, beautiful views. Last stop was the most gorgeous picturesque winery - so beautiful. Had a lovely guide tell us a little bit about the vineyards and the wine making process and got to try x3 ports. & that’s the day! Then get ready for the long drive back to Porto! I booked this trip with Living Tours based on their overall reviews, it didn’t disappoint. Our tour guide Alexandre and driver Nuno were friendly, knowledgeable and so curteous from the start to the finish. We stopped in beautiful locations along the way from Aramente, hopefully the right spelling to the wine distillery to the lovely vineyard where we had the most gorgeous lunch. Great fun and informative tour! Our guide Slimmy was very entertaining, personable, and made sure all of us were enjoying ourselves. He stopped to get a piece of cake for one who had a birthday today, told funny stories, played some of his own songs, and led us on a group song. He was easily the BEST tour guide we have had so far in Portugal…. And our driver Julio kept our ride smooth and as cool as he could on this hot day. The lunch stop was delicious and even included a taste of a vintage port. And we greatly appreciated the rest stops and water closet directions on the way…. Highly recommend!
Great day in the Douro valley. Our tour guide Slimmy and our driver Julio were amazing. Everything was perfect! Food for lunch was good and in nice setting. Tour was well organized, fun, and ran very smoothly.
Slimmy is an unusually great tour guide; knowledgeable, witty and remarkably memorized everyone’s name. Julio apparently wasn’t drinking on this wine tour, for which I am grateful considering the steep canyons we traversed. Overall the tour was well worth spending our limited time in Portugal. Good and wine were very good. A great deal of the Douro valley was compressed into an accessible form. Highly recommend this tour and Slimmy as the guide particularly.

My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful experience for our first time in Porto! Julio and Slimmy took excellent care of us. We were so impressed with Julio‘s driving abilities on the skinny windy roads in such a large bus. We felt very safe and were able to enjoy the views on our journey through the Duoro Valley. Slimmy was so entertaining, funny, knowledgeable, and considerate of everyone. He made our group of strangers feel like a group of friends. We learned so much and had even more fun. I highly recommend this experience, and if you can, request Julio as a driver and Slimmy as a guide!
