Itinerary

Admission included130 min

The DMZ is a unique area where you can observe one country being divided into two. With this tour, you will visit the 3rd Tunnel, DMZ Exhibition hall, Dora observatory and Unification village. Experience the tension but hope for peace in Korea and learn about their history and future. [DMZ Theater & Exhibition Hall] The DMZ Theater and Exhibition Hall offers videos and key artifacts that help visitors understand the painful history of Korea’s division. With displays of photographs, documents, and remnants from the past, visitors can gain a deeper and clearer insight into the historical events that led to the division of the Korean Peninsula.

30 min

Imjingak Park, originally established as a place of solace for refugees from North Korea during the Korean War, features several symbolic monuments such as the Freedom Bridge, the Soldiers’ Memorial, and the Peace Bell. Adjacent to it, Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park offers visitors a chance to reflect on Korea’s history, the ongoing tensions, and hopes for peace. With monuments like the Mangbaedan, a war-damaged steam locomotive, and open spaces dedicated to remembrance and harmony, the area holds strong potential to be designated as an international peace park.

30 min

[North Korea Experience Hall] The North Korea Experience Hall is a newly popular attraction in the DMZ tour, offering a deeper and more educational way to satisfy curiosity about North Korea. Beyond a simple exhibition of the division, it provides an immersive experience that presents North Korea, a mysterious space, in a fact-based educational manner. The hall features fact-driven content, including real testimonies from defectors and audiovisual documentaries, to help visitors gain a serious understanding of North Korea. This attraction creates a strong synergy with the DMZ tour by offering Q&A sessions with defectors, allowing visitors to experience content that naturally leads to a deeper understanding of North Korean society.

Admission included40 min

Dora Observatory is one of the few places where you can directly witness the reality of Korea’s division. On clear days, the flagpole in Kijŏng-dong, the southernmost village in North Korea, can be seen from Dora Observatory with the naked eye, and even more clearly through a telescope. Dora Observatory has indoor and outdoor areas. Depending on the weather or security situation, the outdoor area may be closed, allowing observation of North Korea only from indoors.

Admission included50 min

The Third Tunnel, discovered in 1978, is a secret infiltration tunnel built by North Korea in the 1970s as part of its military strategy to invade the South. Located just 52 kilometers from Seoul, the tunnel measures 1,635 meters in length, approximately 1.95 meters in height, and 2.1 meters in width—large enough to allow the passage of armed troops. Dora Park features sculptures that convey historical significance and a message of peace to visitors.

60 min

(Optional) Gamaksan Suspenstion Bridge Opened in 2016, this bridge — the longest mountain suspension bridge in South Korea — offers a thrilling experience, as if walking above the clouds. The bridge is named The Gloucester Heroes Bridge in honour of the heroic achievement of the soldiers of the Gloucestershire Regiment who fought against the Chinese Communist Army during the Korean War in order to defend Seolmari to the last and block the Chinese advance on Seoul for three days.

DMZ morning tour with guide AJ

Great tour with a very dedicated and dynamic tour guide AJ. An exciting and informative tour through new and modern Korean history. Growing up in divided Germany, much of what I learned about North and South Korea in the DMZ today was dejà vu. AJ has accompanied us very engaged, funny and in an excellent English through the morning. Getting up early for the morning tour was definitely worth it.

Operator response

Thank you for your wonderful review! Thank you so much for choosing SeoulNTour and for sharing such a thoughtful review. We are truly moved by your personal reflection on the similarities between the DMZ and your own experiences growing up in a divided Germany. It is a powerful reminder of how history connects us all. We will certainly share your kind words with AJ. She will be thrilled to hear that her energy and English skills made your early morning start worthwhile. We hope the rest of your stay in Korea is just as memorable and pleasant. Best regards, SeoulNTour Team

Well Organized and Informative Tour to the DMZ

Very well-organized and informative tour. BK was an excellent tour guide! He gave us a lot of background info on the history of North and South Korea before we arrived at the DMZ so we were prepared. And, for the areas of the tour that photos were not allowed, he sent us photos taken in the past when they were allowed. Everything ran efficiently (although it was a very early start, we all were on-time and got back around 3:30). A highlight of the tour was hearing from a North Korean woman who defected to South Korea--her story and information on what North Korea is like.

Operator response

Thank you for your wonderful review of our DMZ Tour! Thank you for joining our DMZ tour and sharing your wonderful feedback. We are thrilled to hear that BK’s insightful explanations and extra efforts made your trip informative. It’s also great to know that hearing from a North Korean defector was a highlight of your experience. Thank you for your punctuality despite the early start, which helped everything run smoothly. We hope to see you again on your next visit to Korea! Best regards, Seoul N Tour Team

Our tour guide, Sookhee...

Our tour guide, Sookhee was very knowledgeable about the history of Korea. We are very happy that we did the tunnel, it was a great experience. It was steep going down & a bit of a hike back up but we all made it. Love the suspension bridge, beautiful view of the mountains..

Perfect

Allow me to rey-lay some of the details of our trip. Our guide was easy to ray-late to, he was hilarious and spoken perfect English. visibility wasn’t very good because of the weather. Our guide was a joy you could say he had a ray-diant smile, or even that he was a ray of sunshine. In case you couldn’t tell the guy was Ray. 10/10 trip!

Best introductory tour

Mr Kim and BK were the best guides we’ve had. I have visited previously and this tour was perfect. BK was very knowledgeable and set a busy but perfect pace to see a lot in a short time. Perfect tour for the start of your SK travels.
