Itinerary
You will meet with your guide outside the Colosseum and inside to explore Ancient Rome’s largest amphitheatre.
Outside again you go to see The Arch of Constantine and take a short walk to the Roman Forum, once the centre of Rome’s political, religious and social life; the ancient ruins bear testament to its prestigious past.
A walk up the Scared Way brings you to Capitoline Hill and one of modern-day Rome’s famous landmarks, Il Vittoriano.
Your guide will then take you to see the wonderful Trevi Fountain, remembered by most for the famous scene in Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. Don’t forget to throw a coin in the fountain and make a wish that some day you will return to Rome!
You then visit the Government District with its imposing buildings; the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius. Nearby is the Temple of Hadrian, built by the Emperor Antonius Pius to honour his predecessor.
Through the narrow alleyways of Rome you come to the Pantheon where you can see the final resting place of the famous architect and painter, Raphael.
Passing the Ancient Baths of Nero the tour arrives at Piazza Navona where you can see Bernini’s magnificent Fountain of the Four Rivers. The tour finishes with an original Gelato. What better way to end a wonderful 4-hour tour of the Eternal City!

Great experience! Perfect amount of time to get enough information but not overwhelming where u wish it would end. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly!
This was an unforgettable tour of Rome! Massimiliano was truly an outstanding guide, knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing the rich history of this amazing city. We visited iconic sites like the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain, each brought to life through his expert storytelling. He seamlessly blended historical detail with interesting facts that kept both the adults and our children fully engaged. What really made this experience special was the personal attention and flexibility Massimiliano provided. He kept the pace perfect for our family, answered every question, and made sure we saw and experienced so much more than we could have on our own. Ending the tour with a delicious gelato tasting was the perfect final touch! If you’re visiting Rome, booking this private tour with Massimiliano is an absolute must. It was the highlight of our trip and we would highly recommend it to families, couples, or anyone wanting a truly personalized and memorable experience.
I’m so happy we booked our Tour of Rome with Rome city tours. Our tour guide Francesco was amazing. He was so knowledgeable, warm and friendly! We got to see so much more than we thought and had some amazing gelato too! From the moment the tour started until the end we knew that our guide, Francesco loved his city knew so much about it, and was excited to share it with us! We learned so much about Ancient Rome, Italian history and also things that are currently going on in the city! I highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Rome!
Had an amazing private tour. Our guide, Claudia, was so great. She was extremely knowledgeable, personal, and passionate about.tge.sights and spots in between. Got right into each spot, and she helped us take great pictures. So much fun and highly recommended.
I cannot recommend this tour enough! My guide, Claudia, not only showed me the sites but gave me an immersive history lesson which left me wanting more. Walking the streets was more like walking with a friend talking about politics, shopping, travel, and much more! Claudia made Rome feel like home for a day.
Worth every penny! Highly recommended. These folks were well prepared and highly knowledgeable. Tour groups are small so keeping up or speeding up was not a problem
