This tour include the newly opened upper floor with panoramic lift and Arena floor. Your guide will tell you stories about the full-blooded battles and bravery of the gladiators, forced to fight against one another or against ferocious animals to save their own lives. It was the last chance for the best gladiators, who came to Rome from differents part of the world, to win their freedom.
You will walk through the old cobbled streets, listening to stories about this ancient city, and see the Roman Forum, the mystical ruins of the Emperor’s Palace, the Arch of Titus and a series of ancient temples. It will be an incredible experience to behold these important political buildings from the times of the Great Roman Empire.

Our guide Tomaso was fantastic. It was great having an actual archeologists that has worked at the site doing the tour. He was great with our kids, very engaging. Would 110% recommend!
Claudia was excellent, both in terms of knowledge and how she handled our young son, always trying to involve him. She also adapted the tour to our needs after he fell asleep in the pram.
We arrived at the spot indicated on the booking paper but didn't see our guide with the name card. I didn't get any notification as to why our guide wasn't there. Called the tour company to get info. They had to send another tour guide at last minute. At this point it was almost an hour past the scheduled time. Claudia arrived and found us immediately. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, this was a good tour and worth it even though there was an initial glitch.
Great tour. We were lucky enough to get the same tour guide (Francesco) for the second time in our trip to Rome. It’s a must see for all visiting Rome. And if you are visiting as a family ask for Francesco.
After almost two weeks in Europe, both 10-year olds rated Donato and his tour as the best and the adults learned a lot and enjoyed the way he conveyed a sense of place and history. Getting in to Colosseum via skip the line earned us jealous looks, but we are so glad he had everything ready to go!
