We had an amazing day on this tour! Chichen Itza was even more impressive in person, and our guide explained everything in a really engaging way without making it feel rushed. The cenote swim was refreshing, and the buffet had plenty of tasty options. Valladolid was a nice, relaxed stop to end the day. Difinetly worth it.
This tour was worth every penny! It was perfect! We paid some 45 dollars per person in tax when we checked in. We had plus plan which included drinks in bus! The buffet was so good better than my resort food. Carlos and Oscar are good at their job! Roberto our tour guide for chicken itza was very good. I would do this tour again in heartbeat
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR FOR THE ITINERARY!! There are probably over 100 tours listed on this site for Chichen Itza and I painstakingly reviewed all of them to find the itinerary with the sites we wanted to visit only to have a bait n switch situation. Before we ever booked this tour we were told by fellow travelers to book a tour where you visit the ruins first thing in the morning because it gets incredibly hot out there (and it does!) so I booked this one which seemed to arrive there first (after the 2+ hour drive) then on to the Saamal cenote and then to the town of Valladolid. NOPE. First it takes about 1.5 hours to pick up everyone from all the different hotels (the bus was driving up and down the hotel zone several times for pickups - not organized at all) so you don't leave the Cancun area til around 9am. Then we drove to a small Mayan village not at all mentioned on the tour; this felt partially educational and partially exploitative of the small village and the people. Here is where they serve you lunch after which you load up and head to the ruins. By the time we got to the ruins it was close to 1pm. If you are offered or must pay for an umbrella, GET ONE!! There is very little shade. Our tour guide for the ruins was not good. He just read from some guidebook he had. Other guides were engaging and knew the history - ours did not. Just go explore the ruins on your own and read up on the history...way better experience...we had 2 hours to spend here. (No joke...wear comfortable shoes!) The rest of the tour felt very rushed. We got to the cenote and had 1 hour to get lockers, change, shower, get your life vest, climb down a very crowded staircase then wait in line to get in the water then swim and take your photos for a bit. Finally we make our way to Valladolid and the booking itinerary said 45 minutes but when we got there we were told 20 minutes only and that it's illegal for the bus to park on the street so it has to keep moving so good luck finding your bus in a sea of similar buses all having to keep relocating or else the driver will have his license taken away. By this time, I was a little hungry again and luckily there are several quick taco places right in the area where the buses drop you off around the main square. Literally only had time to order tacos and walk over to the church (c. 1500) then we had to find our bus. After that, it's 2+ hour drive back to Cancun and then dropping people off at all the hotels. Honestly, spring for a private tour!!! Smaller group. Go where you want to go and be there when you want to be there. During a previous trip to Cancun last year, we booked an excursion with Cancun Adventures and had THE BEST experience with that company and would recommend 10x over this experience. Thought I would try a different company for this trip and overall, I was super disappointed and will not do it again.
Waited 15 minutes before scheduled hotel pick up and no one arrived. Contacted them and they refused to believe we were waiting. Hotel employees stated this was common occurrence with this vender. Did go with another company and they were wonderful.
We have done the tour with Hector, Alfredo and Sol, they have been very friendly and close. Hector has explained the Mayan story very well. The buffet has been spectacular we have eaten different types of tacos, cakes, pizzas, pasta etc. Chichen itza has been wonderful and the cenote too, the visit to Valladolid has been short but the truth is that we were tired, this tour I recommend 100%.
The driver didn't wait for us at the hotel. We missed the tour and were unable to reschedule or get a refund. Unhappy experience for our first trip to Cancun.
Jorge was the best tour guide. He makes it an amazing experience and I highly recommend this trip to anyone who is interested.
Great experience! Carlos and Alexa took good care of us. Alexa provided umbrellas at Chichen Itza. Our Tour Guide at Chichen Itza was Ruth Zamora. She did an excellent job at explaining the Mayan history. Highly recommend booking this activity. On thing that was not listed though is that the $34 USD is only part of the fee. We had to pay an extra fee when checking in. That’s something that wasn’t mentioned until after booking.
The staff were all amazing during our trip. The driver made sure we git everywhere safe. The tour guide was very informational aswell as making the trip fun. Also they had someone bring us drinks whenever we needed and if you dont choose the full inclusive they made sure they had drinks to buy for very cheap. The trip was amazing and the staff all were super helpful. On our trip there were parents who would loose track of their kids and the staff went out of their way to insure the kids were safe even when the parents wouldnt go look for their own kids. They were not always treated the best by the guests but always made sure they smiled and were incredibly friendly and helpful whenever needed. The trip was really fun getting to learn alot about Mexico and the history of the Mayan people. I highly recommend booking if you have any doubts I suggest going. Amazing staff, amazing people and food, and a really good way to enjoy a beautiful trip while in mexico.
This tour exceeded all our expectations. Chichen Itza is awesome, and the guide explained everything with a lot of passion. Then we swam in a spectacular cenote and ended the day in Valladolid, a beautiful town full of history. The Mexican buffet was delicious, with options for all tastes. 100% recommended!
