These ruins are indicative of the mix of politics, religion and society, which centred on this ancient square.

Our guide was great, knowledgeable and friendly. Showed us a side of Rome we didn’t expect to see and gave us insight we didn’t expect
Rome is amazing. We spent 3 nights and managed to do the coliseum, forum, and pallentine hill. St. Peter’s Basillica, the Vatican museum, trevi fountain Spanish steps and pantheon. It’s all brilliant. Get it on your bucket list
We fit a lot into this day but the highlight was probably seeing this massive Coliseum up close. Another crowded stop but well worth it. So much to see in this ancient city. Bucket list ✅
