Start at one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, a neoclassical symbol of unity and peace. Your host will share insights into the gate’s history—from its Prussian origins to Cold War division and its role in modern-day Germany. This is the perfect place to begin your Berlin story.
Walk through the hauntingly beautiful Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. As you explore the concrete slabs, your host will guide you through its symbolism and the stories it represents, creating space for thoughtful reflection and meaningful conversation.

Your host will share the square’s layered history, from Prussian ceremonial grandeur to its post-war restoration. It’s a perfect pause to appreciate Berlin’s architectural contrasts and snap beautiful photos away from the busier tourist zones.
End your tour in Berlin’s creative core—a maze of hidden courtyards and vibrant murals in Mitte. Discover the city’s contemporary side as your host reveals stories of resistance, reinvention, and art. It's a chance to explore Berlin’s raw edge and the culture that thrives in its backstreets.

Our tour guide Nick did an awesome job. We asked him to try to focus on and show us places that would NOT be on a tour we would take the next day about the 3rd Reich. He really lived up to the request and we saw many cool things and learned so much from him. Definitely a 5 out 5 stars!
We’re delighted to hear that Nick provided such a great experience and was able to tailor the tour to your interests. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you again on another experience soon!
Bridget was very knowledgeable and flexible. We under estimated Berlin’s size and amount of sightseeing. Regardless, Bridget remained energetic and thorough throughout a sizable tour! Thank you Bridget for sharing the city with us!
We’re so glad that Bridget’s knowledge, flexibility, and energy helped make your Berlin experience so enjoyable, even with the city’s incredible size and abundance of sights to explore. Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! Thank you again for choosing City Unscripted, and we hope to assist you again in your future travels!
Loulia completely customized the tour to my interests, finding ways to blend history, nature and cool off the beaten path parts of Berlin. She is a very interesting person and easy to talk to which made it fun for me as a solo traveler. I highly recommend this experience - it exceeded my expectations!

We had an awesome adventure with Natalia, our private tour guide. Not only did she take the time to understand our interests and preferences, but she also put together a masterful itinerary tailored just for us. From sharing the history of the Brandenburg Gate to guiding us through the beautiful scenery and vibrant atmosphere of the Hackeschen Courtyards, every moment was memorable. She even introduced us to currywurst! It was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend Natalia to anyone visiting the city!
We’re thrilled to hear that Natalia crafted a personalized tour that highlighted both the history and vibrant culture of Berlin, from the Brandenburg Gate to the Hackeschen Courtyards. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back for another memorable adventure in the future.
Mark was an excellent raconteur of history of Berlin during WWII. I liked how he brought us into the story and led us through the sites and events of wartime. Mark is extremely knowledgeable.
We’re delighted to hear your Berlin experience with Mark was so engaging and insightful! It’s wonderful that his storytelling and deep historical knowledge brought the city’s WWII history to life. Thank you for your kind feedback!
Wonderful visit of Berlin with our guide Nataly! She was knowledgeable and organised a fantastic tour!
We’re so happy to hear you had a wonderful time exploring Berlin with Nataly! It’s great that her knowledge and organization made the tour such an enjoyable experience. Thank you for your kind feedback!
Our guide Natalia helped us see three different faces of Berlin (as she has been still discovering for herself and clearly falling in love with it) - beginning with the formal (governmental) district moving on to the history certainly immersing into the tragic events of the WWII, evidence (or better say - memory) of which one may easily find in abundance in the streets of Berlin (and on its buildings), and finally visiting Shpandau - an art district where the free spirit of Berlin wanders at large and makes itself seen through the impressive display of graffities (really nice ones), wall paintings, art shops with handcrafted art objects. I guess for some people a better focused tour could work better but for our (and our 13 years old daughter's) 1st visit / acquaintance with the city it was a perfect format. Even though it might be a standard route but it did not feel like following a crowd but instead looked more like a walk with an old friend who has happened to move to Berlin and is happy to show you around. Maybe the fact that Natalia is a native Russian also contributed to the atmosphere as we could easily communicate using common language. All in all it was a positive experience for us and I would gladly recommend this tour for a 1st time visitors to Berlin.
We’re thrilled to hear your first visit to Berlin with Natalia was such a meaningful and well-rounded experience! It’s wonderful that her knowledge, warmth, and personal touch made exploring the city’s history, art, and spirit feel like a walk with a friend. Thank you for your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback
Nataly was absolutely wonderful! She brought a binder with pictures which really helped us learn what areas looked like before compared to now. We asked for her to tailor it for us—highlights in 3 hours. It included a lovely mixture of history, culture, architecture and we dropped us at a wonderful pub to experience true delicacies!
We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your time with Nataly! It’s wonderful that her thoughtful touches, from the picture binder to the tailored mix of highlights, gave you such a rich and memorable experience. Thank you for your kind words!
We had a private tour through Berlin. Neither of us had been to Berlin before and were anxious to learn about the city from a local. We were also interested specifically in the design, art and architecture. Our tour guide was a young gal who was a musician and introduced us to a part of Berlin that was very interesting us . Also loved the perspective of a 26 year old!
It’s wonderful to hear your private Berlin tour was such a great experience — exploring design, art, and architecture through the perspective of your guide clearly made the city come alive in a unique way. Thank you for sharing your feedback and recommendation!
Nick was amazing. I love the survey that helps the guide customize your experience. Nick was easy to understand, made the history relevant to today. We were able to feel good about asking questions and share our personal views and experiences.
Thanks for this wonderful feedback — we’re so glad Nick made the experience feel engaging and personal, and that you felt comfortable and connected throughout the tour!
