Itinerary
Kick off your day with a pickup from your Dresden hotel at a pre-arranged time. Settle into an air-conditioned minivan with free Wi-Fi while your local English-speaking guide drives you toward the national parks.
Start your day at the breathtaking Bastei Bridge, the sandstone span set high above the Elbe valley and the most iconic viewpoint in Saxon Switzerland. Walk the bridge and the surrounding rock formations on foot at an easy pace, with sweeping panoramas over the river and the pinnacles.
Pass by the ruins of Neurathen Castle, a medieval rock fortress built straight into the sandstone beside the Bastei — once one of the largest cliff castles in the region.
Cross into Czechia for a scenic drive through Bohemian Switzerland National Park — a wilderness of deep gorges, pine forest and sandstone towers that, with the Saxon side, gave the whole region its "Switzerland" name.
(Summer tour only) Hike up to Pravcicka Gate, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe — a massive stone span framing the forested valley below, and one of the most photographed natural wonders in the country. It also featured in The Chronicles of Narnia.
Recharge with a relaxed à la carte lunch at a traditional Czech restaurant in the village of Mezná — main course, drink, dessert and coffee included.
Finish in the Tisa Rock Labyrinth (Tiské stěny), a maze of towering sandstone walls, narrow passages and hidden viewpoints — best known internationally as a filming location for The Chronicles of Narnia, and for many travelers the most atmospheric stop of the day.
After a full day of exploring, sit back and relax on the comfortable drive back to Dresden, with drop-off at your hotel.

We had a great trip with Saxon tours. We were picked up and dropped back at our hotel which was lovely. We had 3 walks and a yummy lunch after the second walk. It was a rainy and overcast day but it was worth the trip, learning about the area, nature and escaping the city.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, Melissa! 😊 We're delighted that you enjoyed the tour despite the rainy weather. Sometimes the mist and clouds give the sandstone landscapes a special atmosphere. Thank you for spending the day with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future! 🌲✨
We had great time visiting Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland. We were there with another family- total of 7 ppl. Milan was great and punctual and we saw great views as promised. Lunch was amazing
Thank you for your wonderful review, Yana! 😊 We're so glad your family had a great day exploring Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland together. It was a pleasure showing you the highlights of the region. Thank you for spending the day with us, and we hope to welcome your family back for another adventure someday! 🌲✨👨👩👧👦
Excellent itinerary, knowledgeable and very accommodating guide Dalibora, amazing scenery, tasty lunch. Overall it was a fabulous experience. Thank you!
Thank you so much, Lan! We’re really glad you enjoyed the itinerary, the scenery, and the lunch. Dalibora will be very happy to hear your kind words 😊 Thanks again for joining us — we hope to see you again in the future! 🌲✨
This was a great out of doors experience. We went to 3 different sites, all with there each unique scenery and things that made them special. We also had the perfect weather for this hike, temps in the 50's. It does get chilly up at the top, so layer up. Our guide was Andrea and she was outstanding. She is from the area and knows anything and everything about the sites. Be prepared to walk a lot (I got 20K steps) and the second hike is uphill, so wear comfy shoes or hiking shoes. I would definitely do this tour again.
Thank you so much for your detailed review! We’re really glad you enjoyed visiting all three locations — each one truly has its own unique charm. Sounds like you had perfect hiking weather too 😊 Andrea will be delighted to hear your kind words — her local knowledge and enthusiasm make a big difference. And yes, those steps definitely add up, but it’s always worth it for the views! Thanks again for joining us, and we’d love to have you back anytime! 🌲✨
Such a great experience! It was a last minute decision but all worth it. From the hotel pick up to scenic drive and lunch, i highly recommend Saxon Tours! The tour guide was very patient and kept us on track without being rushed. Our driver, who I found out later is the owner, is very accomodating and answered my question about Prague and Germany. The length of visit is absolutely right and the atmosphere was calm, relaxed and friendly. We did not pay a single cent (event to enter the toilet). To all Narnia fans, this trip is a must!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re really happy you decided to join us — sometimes last-minute plans turn into the best experiences 😊 It’s great to hear you enjoyed the relaxed pace, the scenery, and the overall atmosphere of the day. We’re especially glad the guide and driver made you feel comfortable and well taken care of — and yes, we always try to keep everything truly all-inclusive, so you can just enjoy the experience. And for fellow Narnia fans — we couldn’t agree more! 🌲✨ We’d love to welcome you again on another adventure someday.
Milan and Andrea provided a wonderful family experience for our group of 6. The drive to all locations felt safe, warm and comfortable along with snacks and waters. Andrea is a knowledgable guide and very patient. We enjoyed our time greatly!
Thank you for sharing this — we’re so happy you enjoyed your Christmas nature adventure with us! Traveling together as a family makes these winter tours extra special, and we’re glad Andrea’s calm and patient guiding (and Milan’s smooth driving 😉) helped create a relaxed, memorable day. Thanks for trusting us with your holiday experience, and we hope to see you again someday! ❄️🌲✨
This is a great tour for those that love nature. I loved and enjoyed the experience, though was raining.
Thank you, Yolanda! We’re really happy you enjoyed the tour — even with the rain trying to steal the show! 🌧️🌲 Your love for nature truly shines through, and we’re glad the experience was still a memorable one. Hopefully next time we can welcome you back with clearer skies!
It is an excellent and enjoyable way to learn about important sights and the landscape and area around Dresden. The tour guide was attentive, informative and helpful to make the tour enjoyable. I'd say the Lunch was the only 'negative' experience of the day, rather mechanical and somber (I don't recommend the Potato Dumplings).
Hi Marianne, Thank you so much for joining our tour and for taking the time to share your feedback! We're really glad you enjoyed exploring the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland region with us and appreciated your guide’s effort. We’re sorry to hear the lunch didn’t quite meet your expectations — we always aim to provide both great scenery and a pleasant dining experience, so your comment is very helpful. We’ll make sure to review this with the restaurant to ensure a warmer and more personal atmosphere in the future. We’d love to welcome you again one day — perhaps next time you could try our Easy Top3 tour with a different local restaurant option. Warm regards, Milan Saxon Tours
A fantastic tour where two young co-living Czechs showed and told stories about the area and they followed us all the way to the best viewpoints. All in all a very interesting trip we would like to recommend. Birthe and Kaj

Excellent tour, very well organized. Clear information in advance, punctual pick-ups and transfers. The driver and guide were polite and attentive, and the guide shared nice insights about the places we visited. The tour itself was a great way to discover nature.
