As a big fan of Banksy, I expected a much more immersive and interesting experience. The collections remain quite limited, and the museum felt a bit "dead," lacking any real atmosphere. In my opinion, there are much cooler exhibitions in Europe to discover Banksy's works and universe. The price is also quite high for what is offered. The welcome was not particularly warm, and there was even no one present at the shop at the end of the visit. The neighborhood around the museum is honestly not very safe either, which does not help make the experience enjoyable. In the end, it is a visit that I would not necessarily recommend, especially if you have already seen other exhibitions dedicated to Banksy.
Street art is not my thing , but I had seen a frw things in NYC , that were interesting. Great choise .
Fun stencil class at end of tour. Great exhibits. Enjoyed the format of museum. Learned a lot about Banksy.
Enjoyed it. Nice reproductions with some nice descriptions and background nearby. Ill give a knock on it with makeshift walls and taped off corridors that took away from the genuine feel of a museum.
Glad we did it !! was so good to see his work although not the real thing but great nonetheless would definitely recommend
Loved it, aesthetically but also so informative! Learned so much more about the artist and his work but also about the intent behind the projects!
I don’t think you can really qualify this is a museum, but rather an “experience”. While understandably all the immovable art are reproductions, the same goes for the moveable art etc. It’s interesting to see the life size reproductions of the street art, but of course you lose a huge part of the context of where the actual piece was physically created. A bit expensive for what it is l, as about the same price for the MOMA or the Whitney. A 10$ entry fee would be more commensurate.
Thank you for coming to the museum and thank you for your thoughts. Over 80% of the pieces in the museum have been destroyed and so worked to try and replicate as close as we could to the original.
Yesssss!!! We were right to go and see this museum. A revival of the works of the great Banksy, well arranged, in one place! Enjoy the visit because it is really worth it!!
This is an exhibit that should not be missed! Very informative and thought provoking. Well laid out, not overwhelming, and just the right size to spend an hour or so.
Thank you, we are glad you came to the exhibit
I didn't know this museum existed until I was researching another museum to go to and I saw the Banksy Museum was nearby. I never would have noticed the museum because it's located on an extremely busy street in Chinatown surrounded by vendors, hustlers, locals and tourists sightseeing and shopping, souvenir shops and restaurants. I went on a Saturday and the museum was blissfully quiet and peaceful after the chaos of the streets outside. The exhibit is well organized with informative placards spread throughout. A modest gift shop rounds out the one-hour tour.
Thank you so much for coming by! Glad you had a great experience.
