Let us guide you round the historic walls of Chester City, visiting our favourite local eateries and trying many different culinary delights guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling. Our passionate and experienced local guide will lead you to 4 independents where you will enjoy a range of food and drink whilst learning more about the venues and their influences from the owners themselves. Our unique tour also passes by key sights in the city, where you'll hear interesting stories about Chester’s ancient history while sipping on an award-winning ale, or even maybe sampling some artisanal cheese. Each of our Chester tours are unique and we reveal each of the stops to you as we go. Gareth, our guide not only knows the restaurants we visited, he really knows Chester. I wish we'd had more time to follow up on all the places he showed us but we had a train to catch. The restaurants we visited all served lovely food and so much of it: I should have left half but it was all too good. We visited a Turkish restaurant serving a delicious assortment of food, including the best hummus I've ever had. Then we visited a cheese shop with an amazing range of cheeses of which we tasted 4 - my favourite was the blue. Next we visited a restaurant specialising in pierogi, delicious Polish dumplings and finally we visited a charming restaurant where we had dessert - so good.

A very enjoyable night with a friendly, fun and approachable guide who confidently answered all of our questions and gave more information on top. Food choice was varied and of a high standard and nothing seemed rushed although there was a hidden time-table. I would strongly recommend.

This is our third tour with Gareth’s team, previously doing Liverpool and Shrewsbury. The food in Chester was the best yet and we’re left feeling full. Malc, our guide was a fantastic host and we can’t wait to do another. I highly recommend doing any of their tours.

Having previously done the Liverpool food tour and loved it we booked the Chester tour for a special family birthday. Gareth went above and beyond he is so accommodating and knowledgeable we had a really wonderful evening plenty of yummy food and drink in unique venues! What’s not to like thank you again!!!

I really enjoyed Gareth's Chester food and drink tour. We spent a wonderful evening seeing some of Chester's beautiful sights and learning lots about it's history too. All the food venues we visited were fantastic. It was a lovely way to spend an evening and great to do something really different. I'd highly recommend this tour and thanks for a great evening.

A great way to taste the very best of Chester. Our host Gareth was excellent—his knowledge of the city’s Roman and medieval history is as good as the food and drink we had during the tour. We were in a tour group of four, and visited a selection of outstanding local independents, no chains or high street names. No spoilers, but you’ll visit hidden gems you’d likely walk right past on your own. It’s a brilliant way to support local businesses while getting a deep dive into Chester’s heritage.
