Rihito was an amazing instructor. We had a great experience making udon and chatting.
Class could’ve been good but we were not accommodated to at all. We went as a couple and we were sat with a family with a child, they took excessive amounts of pictures with the family but barely took pictures of me and my partner despite coming for her birthday. Not only that but we asked to be sat separately from them when trying our noodles and were denied despite the restaurant being empty and not open yet. While we were eating our noodles the child then threw his food over us too, so the experience was very sour in the end. This tour could be better if it was tailored for each guests experience and not biased towards other tourists.
This was an amazing experience! Our whole family (2 adults and 3 kids aged 9, 11 and 14) loved learning how to make handmade - or should I say foot made? -udon noodles, which we then got to enjoy either cold or hot with a few additional menu items. This was easily our favorite activity while in Osaka. The lady who taught us is very kind and fluent in English. She even shared pictures of us and a written recipe. Our kids enjoyed themselves so much that I ordered udon making supplies so we could make udon noodles at home. Highly recommend!!
Ever thought you might want to dance on some udon. Check it out. Great learning experience that was fun for the family. If you kid likes to muck around with you in the kitchen, they love making their own udon. Age 11 and up likely to enjoy.
Absolutely amazing experience and phenomenal meal! Our teacher Looseo (sp?) was great and provided some helpful recommendations to check out in the neighborhood as well. Highly recommend for couples or friends.
I feel like I can and probably will start making my own udon noodles starting from now
Keiko was so friendly and we had such a great time making noodles by hand! Not only did she help take photos while teaching, we got to eat our own noodles and take the recipe home! A great time for small groups would definitely go back!
We had a wonderful time making udon noodles. This class was a great way to learn the history and culture behind the process, all while enjoying a fun activity with our kids, ages 10 and 4. Keiko was warm and inviting, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The experience felt very personalized, as we shared it with just one other family. Keiko’s instructions were clear and she made everything easy to follow- even for the kids. She also took photos throughout, so we could simply enjoy the activity. Every step of the class is so well planned and accommodating, making it special for everyone. Eating our freshly made noodles afterward was definitely a memorable highlight. We highly highly highly recommend this class. A big thank you to Keiko and her husband for such a special and memorable experience!
Keiko was our host for our class of 11 friends (3 families with 5 kids total). The restaurant is small and cozy with cohesive decor and a clean bathroom. Keiko walked us through the history of udon and instructed us in making our own noodles from flour hand kneading to using our feet to flatten to cutting the noodles before having the restaurant staff cook our noodles and serve them hot or cold. The experience was very fun and engaging and kid friendly. Afterwards Keiko chatted with us and recommended where to buy some of the spices we added to our broth and other places in Tokyo which the next leg of our trip. Overall, highly recommended!
Rihito is an amazing instructor and he made the udon making experience fun and easier for the beginner. He is friendly and funny and I really enjoyed this class. I highly recommend.
