100% recommend, thanks so much Ramaa!

We were recommended Ramaa by a friend and although we weren’t really sure what to expect we had the absolute best time. He is an incredibly knowledgeable and helpful man, after the tour where we saw lots of animals, he even helped me with an issue with my visa liaising with authorities for me because I don’t speak Swahili. Very kind guy and I would not hesitate to use him again when coming back to Tanzania.

Extremely Disappointing – Poor Service and False Advertising

I joined a private safari tour with RajaTours Tanzania in July–August 2025 and paid $2,900 per person expecting premium service. What we received in Tanzania was a complete letdown. 1. ALL hotels in Tanzania were downgraded without any notice. We ended up staying in lower-quality accommodations, some far from the parks or even outside the planned cities. 2. We were promised Land Cruiser safari vehicles, but instead were crammed into a regular minivan with no comfort or visibility. 3. Despite the quote saying “drinking water on all days,” we received no water at all in Tanzania. 4. There were unauthorized changes to the itinerary — including accommodations and activities we never agreed to. 5. On August 3rd, instead of staying in Arusha, they dumped us in a 2-star guesthouse in Moshi with terrible facilities, far from the original plan. For a company that markets itself as premium and “custom-tailored,” this was extremely unprofessional and misleading. Avoid this operator if you value your comfort, transparency, or getting what you paid for. We are now requesting a partial refund, but the experience already left a bitter memory.

Operator response

Dear, Was good to host you with your friends ( 6 people ) as according to the plan of 9-day mid-range accommodations safari Kenya and Tanzania out of 8 nights we managed to book 6 nights ( as we agreed from the itinerary) and you stayed. The first day accommodation in Serengeti ( Serengeti Simba Lodge) was a 4-star accommodation and we booked it as last minute because to shorthen the distance, you arrived to the border at Late and it could not be possibble to be inside Serengeti at that time because the Mara Lodge was far to the border. Out of the plan you discussed with the guide about possibilty to see the Rhino because you didn't be able to saw them in Ngorongoro ( was not our problem, it is a nature ). I paid extra cost to take you to different and costful park ( Mkomanzi National Park ) to see the Rhino, though we took a Noah because was one way transfer and luggage were drop off in Moshi and the rest of trip was ok. I gave the multiple options for hotel in Moshi and they choosed the Luxury ( Lamama hotel ) We paid for the hotel and all meals in Moshi with receipt and you paid only for luxuries drinks. We were commited for the changes and ensure everything goes well per itinerary. out 8 accommodations from the itinerary we managed to get 6 while 2 were Serengeti Simba Lodge ( subsitute of Serengeti Wild camp ) and Ngorongoro safari Lodge to Lamama Hotel to shorten the distance and easy chance to see Rhino. Sometimes reservations messed up ( due to peak seasons complications ) but we are always committed to ensure services at the best. We are working for the weakness and doing better

Bad experience with Rajatour. Tricky person 🤬

Disappointing Experience – Poor Organization and Lack of Transparency I booked a 9-day, 8-night trip to Kenya and Tanzania for a group of 6 people, and partially paid the deposit since February. The package was supposed to include all accommodations and meals throughout the trip. While everything in Kenya went smoothly, the experience in Tanzania was extremely disappointing. • On the day we entered Tanzania, I was suddenly informed by RajaTour (the operator) that all our previously selected and confirmed hotels had been changed — without any prior notice. I was only told after we had already arrived in the country. • The guide was unexpectedly switched to a new person who seemed confused and unfamiliar with the route. It took us 1–2 hours just to find the hotel on the first day. • The hotels were downgraded, with the excuse that our original 4-star hotels were “fully booked”, despite our early reservation and deposit. • For the last two days, the vehicle was changed from a proper 4x4 safari car to a small Toyota Noah — again, without any prior agreement. Not ideal for a safari trip, especially when traveling with luggage. • On the final night, we were suddenly told that dinner was not included, despite the package clearly stating that all meals were covered. I had to chase and negotiate with the operator every single day just to get the basics of what we had already paid for. It was exhausting and took away from the experience. If you’re planning a trip and want peace of mind, Book tour with other company not rajatour. Bad operator.😡😡😡😡😡 This should have been a memorable and enjoyable trip — instead, we were left frustrated and disappointed. For the price we paid, we certainly didn’t deserve this kind of treatment.

Super great

My family and I spontaneously decided to go on a safari just a month before departure, and it was during the Christmas holidays! Usually, safaris are planned a bit further in advance. In the end, everything turned out perfectly from the very beginning — pleasant communication during the trip planning stage with Rajab, and later, during the safari itself, with our drivers. Within a couple of weeks, we planned a 6-day route through Kenya and Tanzania and set off. In Kenya, we had an amazing guide, Jeff, and in Tanzania, Daniel. I can trully recommend both of them. They spotted animals before anyone else and from the best angles. It was nice to see how passionate they are about what they do. After the safari ended, Rajab helped organize a transfer from Arusha to Mombasa, and everything there went smoothly as well. A huge thank you for the trip! Highly recommended. I found communication with Raja Tours significantly more pleasant and easygoing than with more promoted and popular competitors who tend to overdo the pleasantries. Personally, I prefer normal communication and Rajab do it well.

Perfect safari experience

This was our first time in Africa. And I am happy we did safari with RajaTours! For Kenya part we had experienced guide Chris who showed us Masai Mara. And our Tanzania guide Allen was just amazing! He showed us lions so close we couldn’t even expect! We saw leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, rhino. All the big 5! And so many animals and birds I am even not capable to enlist here. Also Allen took care of us after safari and helped with hotel and bus arrangements. We are absolutely happy and definitely will be back next year!

Everything taken care of

We did the 6 night / 7 day tour of Kenya and Tanzania. Everything was taken care of by Rajab and the guides who went the extra mile in making sure we were happy (we had the brilliant Chris in Kenya and Amani in Tanzania). We saw everything we wanted to see, and it was a sensational experience. As vegan travellers we were well fed everywhere, though there was better understanding of requirements on the Kenyan side. Just double check your accommodation before you go - a couple of places were different to what we expected, though we were happy with everywhere we stayed - staff in all accommodations are very welcoming. Don’t hesitate to book with Raja Tours - the value for money is outstanding.

Highly recommended tour

We went on a 5-day safari in Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Masai Mara. The part in Tanzania with our guide Alen was incredible. We enjoyed excellent accommodation and food. Alen knew all the best spots in the national parks. We ran into a small issue in Masai Mara, but Rajatour quickly fixed it. Overall, we highly recommend this tour. We had a great time for Safari here!

Book this tour and do it with Rajabu + Fredy!!

Pro tip: fly into Nairobi, do Maasai Mara > Serengeti > Ngorongoro > Tarangire, and request Fredy. Unforgettable experience. Rajabu was wonderful to work with from day 1. He was so accommodating to all of my requests and set us up with the best lodging for our 6 day safari. Our transfer from Kenya to Tanzania was flawless with a really seamless handoff between drivers. The most memorable part of the trip was getting to see the Big 5 in rare form: a leopard eating its prey in a tree, 2 rhinos mating, a lion eating fresh kill, baby elephants, and a never ending herd of buffalo. All of this was possible with the guidance of Fredy who is the king of Safari. He can spot anything from a million miles away and always has the right sense for where something might be. Not only that, but he is just a wonderful person and my partner and I had such a great time bonding with him throughout the week. He even surprised us with an arranged cake at one of our lodges for my partners birthday. Fredy is so passionate about the animals and it excited us to see how excited he got, as well. We could not have asked for a better guide or partner in crime to explore these parks with. Thank you Rajabu and Fredy for a truly magical week. I’m still glowing!!

Safari

Freddy was our guide/driver and he was the absolute best. We saw the big 5, including two rhinos mating. We also saw an albino giraffe. He is super friendly, calm, and caring. He arranged for a surprise birthday celebration for me at one of our lodges. Overall 10/10 experience and would recommend to anyone.

Raja Tours will make your trip memorable and easy!

My friend and I planned a somewhat last minute trip to Africa. We weren't sure if our flight would make it on time for our tour but it didn't matter. I was able to keep in communication with them and said they could be flexible depending on what happened with our flights. We did make it there as expected and Alan was ready for us! He did an excellent job when we were with him in Tanzania. He made sure we were always ok, that he made sure we were able to see the Big 5 and really made our time there an amazing experience. We had a variety of overnight stays which were all great and the staff at each place was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I would definitely use Raja Tours again and will recommend them to friends in the future.
