The safari was excellently organized. The tour operator was, as always, reliable and well organized. Our guide, Rono, was outstanding, always professional, very friendly, and an exceptionally skilled and safe driver. He had a great eye for finding wildlife and was always patient, giving us plenty of time to enjoy special sightings and take photos. I thoroughly enjoyed the safari experience. The accommodations were also very nice, although the safari itself was the highlight for me. Thank you for this wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour and especially guide Rono.
We booked a 5day safari for our family with 2 big kids. The communication with Dennis during booking process was great, he is responsive and very flexible. We were happy with the itinerary, the booked lodges. Our guide, Alex was very knowledgeable, was always looking for the best spots to view the animals. We saw the big 5 as well, and generally the whole safari was a life time-experience. Will definitely come back, and have our next safari with Morningstar. Do not hesitate to book 😊!!
We visited three national parks with very different ecosystems in Kenya: Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli. The experience was absolutely incredible, and we felt extremely happy and satisfied with this trip. Communication with Morningstar was fast and smooth, and the planning was always adapted to our preferences. Dennis was very helpful, attentive, and responsive throughout the entire process. What truly made our tour perfect, however, was our driver and guide, Mwololo (Steven). He was excellent, his driving was very efficient and we always felt safe with him. He is also amazing at spotting wildlife: we saw almost all the animals you can possibly see (the only one we missed was the leopard, and we were told no one had seen one in the previous three days). Mwololo patiently answered all our questions and helped us understand Kenya, its people, and its flora and fauna much better. His knowledge and kindness made a huge difference. The hotels booked by Morningstar were all excellent, very close to nature, with comfortable rooms and beds. The food at all the hotels was also very good and exceeded our expectations. Lastly, we want to thank Morningstar from the bottom of our hearts for their help when we lost our passports. Both Mwololo and Dennis went above and beyond to help us locate them and organize transportation so we could receive them in time before our next flights. Thank you so much, we truly don’t know what we would have done without you.
This was our first ever Safari, Dennis was hands on from the initial contact to tailor make the most ideal package for us. Timothy, our guide, was the real star of the holiday! Always available, reliable and really went the extra mile to ensure the best experience for us, and boy he did!! We could not have wished for anything more! Car was spacious and kept clean, accomodation were also really good overall. 5 stars on every field guys, thank you for planning the safari that we will never forget.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A perfectly planned Kenya–Tanzania safari — thank you Denis & Morning Star Our 6-day Kenya and Tanzania safari (October) with Morning Star Tours & Travel was our honeymoon, first anniversary, and my husband’s birthday trip, and it turned out to be one of the most special experiences of our lives. From the very beginning, Denis, who planned and coordinated the entire trip for us, ensured everything was seamless, thoughtful, and personalised. Every detail — from routes and stays to guides and timing — reflected careful planning and genuine care. ⸻ Day 1–2: Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya) Stay: Basecamp Masai Mara Guide: Tim (Masai Mara driver/guide) Our safari began in Masai Mara, and right from the first half-day game drive, the experience exceeded expectations. We spotted the Big Three on day one itself, which immediately set the tone for the journey. Over the next two days (half-day + full-day game drives), Tim ensured incredible wildlife sightings: • Large prides of lions, including cubs • Elephants, zebras, cheetahs • A rare leopard sighting in Masai Mara • Crocodiles near the Great Migration river crossing point • A peaceful bush lunch in the middle of the forest, surrounded by zebras Even when his duty hours were over, Tim patiently stopped so we could enjoy our last moments in Masai Mara — including watching 12–13 giraffes standing just a few metres away on the road. His patience, local knowledge, and understanding of wildlife made the experience truly special. A special birthday surprise Because this trip included my husband’s birthday, I had requested something special. Denis beautifully coordinated with Basecamp Masai Mara to arrange a birthday cake and a traditional Maasai dance. It was a heartfelt surprise and one of the most memorable moments of our trip. My husband absolutely loved it. ⸻ Day 3: Crossing into Tanzania & Northern Serengeti Stay: Untamed Migration Camp Guide: Jackson (Serengeti driver/guide) We crossed the Kenya–Tanzania border by road — a long journey, but everything was handled smoothly. From the Tanzania side, Jackson took over, and he was outstanding throughout. Jackson’s vehicle was extremely comfortable and well-equipped (charging points, refrigerator — perfect for long drives and camera gear). He encouraged us to experience local cuisine, and we shared a relaxed lunch at a small local restaurant under a tree — simple, authentic, and memorable. At Untamed Migration Camp, we truly felt like we were living inside the jungle: • Elephants walked past our tents • We heard hyenas, zebras, and lions through the night • Early mornings came with wildlife right outside • The food was excellent — hot, fresh, and local • Safety was taken very seriously, with staff escorting us after dark ⸻ Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park Stay: Serengeti Classic View Camp Guide: Jackson Serengeti exceeded every expectation. Highlights included: • A pride of lions right after leaving camp • Five cheetahs, including the unforgettable three cheetah brothers attempting a hunt — a true “paisa vasool” moment • Three leopards in a single day (two on trees, one on the ground, very close) • Massive elephant herds The most unforgettable sight was a huge pride of around 25–26 lions, including tiny cubs playing, with the sunset behind them — something we will remember for life. Even though we were running late, Jackson patiently waited so we could enjoy the sunset while sipping wine, surrounded by lions, zebras, wildebeest, and ostriches — a magical moment. Jackson never rushed us. He gave us time to absorb every sighting, continuously searched for wildlife and birds, and shared deep insights. Being originally from the Kilimanjaro region, his knowledge added immense value. One evening, he even joined us for dinner, where we spoke about culture, food, festivals, and life in India and Africa — making the experience very personal. ⸻ Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania) Stay: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge Ngorongoro Crater was the perfect way to end the safari. Inside the crater, we visited the alkaline Lake Magadi, where we saw flamingos, and the biggest highlight — spotting two rhinos, which is considered very rare and special. We also saw a lion resting on a tree, who later woke up and looked straight at us — a surreal moment. A special mention to Bougainvillea Safari Lodge — the food here was excellent, with a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. We especially loved the customisable lunch tiffin, where we could select what we wanted from the available options. Even the packed lunch was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. We would highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Ngorongoro Crater or nearby areas. ⸻ Final thoughts This trip wasn’t just a safari — it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and Denis and the Morning Star team made it exceptional. Our honest recommendations: • Spend at least 3 days in Masai Mara • Don’t rush Serengeti — it deserves time • End with Ngorongoro for a complete experience • Choose a team that genuinely cares — like Morning Star Thank you, Denis and Morning Star Tours & Travel, for giving us unforgettable memories of our first Africa trip. We will wholeheartedly recommend you in India and beyond, and we can’t wait to travel with you again very soon! ♥️
As the title says, Morning Star tours is the Greatest Of All Time! From the time of first contact, Doreen was available to answer my many questions by email or WhatsApp. She made great suggestions and she ended up tailoring the tour to our liking in terms of pick time and location, places to visit, accommodation choice, number and timing of game walks and game drives and other little add-ons we requested. Our guide, Stephen Mwolo was a gentleman. He is another GOAT. He was always punctual, polite, knowledgeable, patient, flexible with the schedule and has eyes for animals like an eagle! Within 24hrs at Masai Mari he found us a fresh lion kill, a cheetah, a leopard and of course the more common antelopes, warthogs, rhinos, crocodiles, ostriches, hyenas, etc. He was listening in on the VHF radio in our land cruiser and making a beeline for the current highlights of the park. We learnt about his Bantu culture but he knows pretty much everything about the Masai people, statistics about the park, and detailed information about every animal and bird that we saw along the way. Overall the 4 day/3 night tour far exceeded our expectations. I compared the pricing with 5 companies with almost identical itineraries and Morning Star excelled in price, responsiveness and flexibility. I couldn’t be happier with our choice of tour company. To top it off, Doreen would check in on us by WhatsApp at the end of each day making sure things went smoothly and we were entirely satisfied with their service. I call her my vacation mom! She is the female GOAT! If we ever have the opportunity to come back to safari in Kenya we will definitely be going with Morning Star. They made us feel like family.
The safari was really well organised and super easy from start to finish — we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Alice planned a great itinerary for us and different options we could consider which wa super helpful. Each day had a great mix of drives, stops, and different things to see. Our guide Alex was awesome — really attentive and knew exactly where to go for the best views and animal sightings. An all round amazing experience!
The overall trip was an amazing experience to remember. The cost of the safari provided is really reasonable and our tour operator - Alice was always accommodating. The communication was very good and she even upgraded the hotel we stayed the last 2 nights. As for our guide/driver Timothy I don't have enough good words to say about him. A very capable and professional guide with lots of experience on safaris and quick witted enough to get us to the right places at the right times in order to elevate our experience. All the while having the knowledge to respond to our many questions and being cheeky enough of a driver to save us many hours in traffic. This trip wouldn't be the same without him. Would recommend this trip 100%.
Our experience with Morning Star tours was an amazing one. Our tour operator, Alice, was really kind and helpful. She was texting back really fast answering any questions we had at any time of the day. Timo, our Safari guide driver, was really experienced. He knew all the good spots for animal watching and thanks to him we saw all the Big Five and many more animals. Everything was really organized and well scheduled. I totally recommend it!
From the moment Morningstar replied to my initial query I knew I was in safe hands. Alice provided me with a very professionally made proposal which clearly listed out the costs and itinerary. She answered all of my questions and queries (of which there were many) quickly and put my mind at ease. She was able to tweak the itinerary when I said we'd like to end our holiday at Diani Beach and suggested the train from Emali to Mombasa and booked us a taxi at the other end. This saved us hours of travel time and so glad she suggested it. Once on safari Julius was our guide. He was brilliant and without him I don't think we'd have seen any animals! We saw loads of lions in the Maasai Mara, 12 rhino's in Lake Nakuru and elephants as far as the eye could see in Amboseli Park - he just knew where to take us. He answered all the questions we had, never rushed us when we were looking at something particularly exciting (in my case elephants), was always on time and made the whole safari fabulous. Morningstar also upgraded our accommodation in the Maasai Mara which was a complete surprise and I can't thank them enough for this. It was absolutely beautiful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Morningstar for your safari in Kenya.
