Excellent, tours and tour guide, he gave us a lot of information and gave us time and knowledge of the tour.
First of all, our guide Manuel contacted me and communicated with me before I arrived in Lisbon. I was never guessing when or where we were to meet him. Manuel offered us an off the beaten path experience on my 3rd and final day and it was the best. He picked us up on the first day and we toured the old city. He drove around and showed us the sights, then we parked and walked around a not so touristy/crowded part ot the city. He catered the experience to what we wanted and was full of stories and information. We went to surprise places that most other tourists do not know about. The Sintra palace tours on the second day was great as well. On his recommendation, we left early and arrived at the town center before all the tour buses arrived. We were able to tour the most popular palace-Pena and again received a wealth of information from Manuel. We opted to go to a smaller coastal village and had a great view of Capo da Roca. We visited another palace on our way back to Lisbon. We asked to be dropped off at the Discoverer's monument and made our way back to the hotel in an Uber (very inexpensive). On the third day, we asked Manuel to suggest places other than the normal tourist destinations based on what he thought we would like after spending 2 days with us. We were wowed by his itinerary. He showed us the Salinas do Samouco, an out of the way place that is amazing if you like nature and outdoors. We purchased Flower Salt (unknown to us). We also visited a few more quaint little towns that had beautiful traditional Portugese houses and flavor. Then we went to the Palmela and visited a castle/convent. It was quiet and relaxing to walk around this very old and historically rich site, Afterwards, we stopped in Setubal and visited the famous market where we bought some fresh fruits. We drove through the Parque Natural da Arrabida and was shown spectacular view points. The crown jewel of the day was visiting a tile maker where tiles are designed and handmade. What an amazing adventure. Thank you Manuel for making our first (and certainly not the last) time in Lisbon a memorable one. Manuel is very knowledgeable, full of information and is extremely passionate about his work. I love his enthusiasm and his energy and love of his work transferred to us, We love Lisbon because of him.
Dear Jinny Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback on behalf of both Manuel and myself, Hugo, at Walkborder Tours. We are truly grateful to hear how much you enjoyed your experience with us. Manuel always goes above and beyond to create a unique and personal experience for each guest, and it’s wonderful to know that his passion for Portugal's rich history and hidden gems resonated with you.
