A short but sweet luxury safari that will have you see the beauty of the wild. Samburu national park is known for its scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It prides itself for its wealth of wildlife such as leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro river. There are also over 365 species of birds that can be found in the sanctuaries. Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert park located in Samburu district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Due to its remote distance and the fact that it was inaccessible for many years, the park exudes an ironic aura of serenity that challenges that of the wild life. Guests stay at Ashnil Samburu Camp, set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river. The Lodge has a virtual mini forest of indigenous trees, a fish pond and a large free form swimming pool.

What an incredible experience! From the pickup in Nairobi to the drive to Samburu, to 3 Days of Safari. My guide and driver Edward was just awesome! Pointing out everything, looking up birds when he wasn't sure what they were. We found a tail sticking out of a termite mound. Edward was able to figure out it was an African wild cat. It was so cool and so funny. Like a dog at home who didn't realize their tail was sticking out from under whatever they were hiding in. I stayed at Elephant Bedroom Camp in Sambaru and it was spectacular. Beautiful spot, wonderful people, delicious and way too plentiful food. The elephants wandering through the dining area, while the staff rushed us away to be safe. Wow! Samburu is not to be missed and do yourself a favor and go with Africa Flash McTours. I have to say it again, it was such a an incredible experience. Peter was so easy to work with when I was setting up the trip. Great communications! Oh I almost forgot, be sure and stop at the signs when you cross the equator. In case you didn't know, Nairobi is south of the equator, and Samburu is north of the equator. Thanks so much guys!

I cannot recommend Flash McTours enough - I had such an amazing time on this tour! I had originally planned to spend 3 days at Ol Pejeta (which I really really *don't* recommend for a variety of reasons, primarily related to animal welfare). Early on in the tour I decided I really didn't want to spend time at Ol Pejeta and that I wanted to change to go to Samburu. My guide, John, immediately got on the phone with Peter to discuss the possibility of changing the itinerary. Peter worked his magic and we switched to go to Samburu after one night at Ol Pejeta, which was incredible. We saw so many animals - it was really beautiful. John was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Peter arrived to the hotel with John to organize pick up and we also met for dinner after the tour to discuss my experience. He was extremely organized and responsive both before and during the tour. As a female traveling alone, I was a little nervous to do this trip on my own, but felt totally safe the whole time. Very grateful for John and Peter's quick response to my concerns about our first itinerary. Samburu is so beautiful - not to be missed!

Really enjoyed our 3 day safari. They were also able to accommodate a customization to the standard itinerary, which we greatly appreciated. Our driver and guide, Edward, was very personable and knowledgable about the animals. The lodging accommodations were also quite good, with a nice ambience and great service.
