Estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old, this ancient tree has witnessed centuries of human and natural history. While David Livingstone carved his name into a different baobab on Garden Island, the Big Tree stands near the site where he made landfall in 1855, adding historical depth to its presence.
