Zaanse Schans Windmill Cruise - UNESCO Windmills With Live Guide

Description
You're not just looking at windmills. You're floating through the birthplace of the industrial world, a river valley that once powered more machines than anywhere else on earth. In the 1600s, this single stretch of the Zaan ran over 1,000 windmills supplying the entire world with timber, spices, paint and whale oil. It's the place where the modern world was invented. During your 25 minute cruise you will see: All 10 UNESCO windmills of Zaanse Schans, seen from the water closer than any path gets you. The world's earliest industrial cacao and chocolate factories, still standing on the riverbank. The whale hunting facilities that once made this region the oil capital of Europe. Traditional Zaanse Houses and the tea houses where merchants traded goods from across the Dutch empire. And a few surprises your guide has saved for the water. Your skipper tailors every cruise to the group on board. Everyone leaves knowing something they didn't expect to learn.

Had a wonderful experience aboard this windmill tour. Arno was a wonderful guide and it was a relaxing, informative way to see all the windmills and learn about the river, town, and the Netherlands.
Nice boat trip with skipper Henk, child friendly.
Very pleasant boat trip through the canal to see the windmills up close. The day we visited it was quite crowded on the pedestrian path and seeing it by boat was a much more enjoyable and peaceful. Guide Henk was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Highly recommend.
Really good boat trip guide had lots if information saw lots v relaxing
On Monday 13 July we made a cruise in a beautiful big boat with lovely cushions along the Zaans Schans. Our skipper Peter told us a lot about the different types of windmills, the houses in assendelft and Zaandijk and much more. Thanks to Peter and the beautiful boat we had a wonderful afternoon with lovely weather!
Nice day out. Good guide with plenty to tell.
I absolutely loved doing this boat ride we had Rick as our skipper he was amazing giving us information about the area and windmills. Absolutely stunningly beautiful place it’s a MUST see if visiting Amsterdam thankyou so much
Such a fantastic way to view 10 windmills on a 25 minute boat cruise, enjoy an authentic Stroopwaffle and a drink and hear all about the windmills and the UNESCO houses in this picturesque setting. Andre was a perfect guide and we loved every minute. Only 25 minutes by bus or train from Amsterdam central.
Very good explanation from guide Dirk. Stays still with boat for sight where he can give a somewhat larger explanation. Because of the different nationalities, the explanation was in English. People are waiting for visitors who want to sail last minute.
Fantastic day Andre the captain was very friendly and helpful. He took his time and was very knowledgeable about the windmills the area and all the history. Nothing was rushed he answered everyone's questions. I highly recommend this tour for everyone
