Itinerary

Pass by

Start your tour from San Francisco downtown, surrounded by skyscrapers that dominate the skyline (Transamerica Pyramid, Salesforce Tower), there is a wealth of tech businesses and Fortune 500 companies.

Pass by

Known as the Bay Bridge (or "the other bridge"), it is a complex of bridges spanning the San Francisco Bay. This double-decker bridged services an estimated 260,000 vehicles per day, connects San Francisco and Oakland cities as a part of the Interstate 80.

20 min

You'll pass through the Central Valley to have a taste of California's most productive agricultural region, providing more than half of the vegetables and fruits grown in the US. We will make a quick stop at Oakdale to purchase your supplies for the day: water, snacks, food for hiking, or your whole picnic.

300 min

Upon entering the National Park, the guide will commence with the 1-hour long bus tour of Yosemite National Park exploring one of the most visually stunning places on earth. Your tour will include stops at Tunnel View, Bridalveil Falls, el Capitan, Half Dome, and Yosemite Valley.

Admission included15 min

A visit to Yosemite would never be complete without a picture from the Tunnel View. It is a scenic viewpoint along State Route 41 in Yosemite National Park. Eastward views of Yosemite Valley include surrounding features, such as the southwest face of El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Falls.

Admission included15 min

Your next stop will discover one of the most prominent waterfalls in Yosemite Valley: Bridalveil Fall. The waterfall is 617-feet tall and flows all year round. You will have 15' to walk close to the falls and take pictures that you'll never forget.

Admission included180 min

Once we reach the drop-off location at the heart of the Yosemite Valley, you'll have around 3 hours of free time to explore the park on your own. Don't know what exactly to do? Ask our guide for the best spots around. You'll have options to hike the paved trails, rent a bike to cover more ground, visit the visitor's center for international exhibits or head to the Ansel Adams Gallery to see works of the legendary artist. Although you may spend days in the park, the three hours you get on your own gives you enough time to understand why Yosemite is a World Heritage Site.

10 min

During your free time in Yosemite Valley, you can opt to head to Ansel Adams Gallery to see works of the legendary artist.

Pass by

Delight in stunning views of Yosemite Falls in its entirety, with the opportunity to walk to the base of the lower fall; it roars in spring but falls silent by late summer. The trail to Lower Yosemite Fall is open year-round. When the water is at its peak in spring and early summer, you can expect to get a little wet.

Pass by

Located in the Yosemite Valley, the Valley Visitor Center is the place you must visit if you are looking for books, postcards, or maps about Yosemite. It is open all year round, and the staff is always happy to assist with any of your questions.

Pass by

Located on the eastern side of Yosemite Valley, on Sentinel Drive, near Cook's Meadow, can be accessed at shuttle stop 11. This location is famous for providing a breathtaking view of Half Dome and its mirrored reflection in the Merced River, especially during the alpenglow.

Admission included15 min

After lunch and your free time, we'll pay a visit to the grasslands in front of El Capitan giving you the chance to look for climbers on the granite wall and get your last photo memory of this unforgettable day in Yosemite.

Admission included60 min

During our Yosemite Valley stop, make sure you save some time to hike or bike around Yosemite Falls base. The effort is well worth the amazing views you will be rewarded at the base; you will be standing in front of the 4th tallest waterfalls in the world!

It’s a long day, but...

It’s a long day, but definitely worth it. The bus was comfortable, with air conditioning, power outlets, and spacious reclining seats. Debby was a friendly and helpful guide who pointed out landmarks along the way, shared some historical background, and answered questions throughout the trip. We had around 2 hours and 45 minutes of free time in Yosemite Valley, which gave us a good opportunity to explore independently. I’d recommend planning a few possible walks or viewpoints in advance to make the most of your time there.

Operator response

Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed Yosemite, the comfort of the bus, and Debby’s guidance. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again soon!

Our tour was good, we got to see a few spots and had time to walk around Yosemite, this tour was contracted out to grey line and wasn't the usual Viator tour. The guide was very sweet but she didn't offer that much about what we were passing or what we were looking at.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback! Glad you enjoyed Yosemite, and we appreciate your comments about the guide—we’ll take it into account.

Overall, a well-organised...

Overall, a well-organised tour, though the comfort was aided by a fortuitously lower number of visitors to the Park on the date of our visit. Two specific comments: 1. Our tour that was originally scheduled on a Saturday, was canceled at the last moment by the company, reportedly because the driver called in sick at 3 AM. We were informed of this at the pick-up point at around 6:30 AM. Since both Viator and Grayline have the contact numbers and emails of all participants of the tour, it is expected that such information, particularly on tour cancellation/rescheduling, is communicated soon after it is received. While we accepted the offer of rescheduling the trip to the next day (Sunday), what made it worse was when we overheard a co-traveller indicating that this (Saturday) was her rescheduled trip as her original trip was canceled on the previous day (Friday) was canceled as well. Given the long-standing reputation of both Viator and Grayline, I expect them to have back-ups (including substitute drivers and buses) for such contingencies, so as to minimise inconvenience to visitors, many of whom could be pressed for time. 2. A toilet stop just before entry to the Park was horrendous by any standard and does not behoove the stature of a developed entity. Viator and Grayline may please take this up with the concerned authorities on a priority basis.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry for the last-minute cancellation and the inconvenience at the rest stop. We appreciate your comments and will share them with our team for review.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – 14 Hours Without Air Conditioning

I am extremely disappointed with my Yosemite tour experience with this tour company .We had been to Yosemite for the Memorial Day weekend and had booked this tour. I paid $220 per person for this trip and expected a basic level of comfort and service. Unfortunately, the bus provided for our tour had a broken air conditioning system. The AC did not work for the entire 16hour journey, despite it being a very hot day. Spending such a long time on a crowded bus without air conditioning was extremely uncomfortable and exhausting. The heat significantly affected the overall experience and made what should have been an enjoyable trip very unpleasant. What is most frustrating is that there appeared to be no adequate solution offered to passengers, despite the obvious discomfort everyone was experiencing. For a paid tour costing $220 per person, I believe functioning air conditioning on a full-day bus tour is a basic expectation, not a luxury. While Yosemite itself is beautiful, the transportation experience was unacceptable and fell far below the standard I expected from a professional tour company. I hope this tour company takes customer comfort and vehicle maintenance more seriously in the future and considers compensating affected passengers for the inconvenience. I would not recommend this tour based on my experience.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry about the AC issue and the discomfort it caused. This is not the experience we aim to provide and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Trip from hell

Yosemite was fabulous. Did not enjoy the trip nor the driver/guide. An itinerary of some sort would have helped. It would have been nice to know we were going to make a stop on the way there at a grocery store to pick up lunch and that we were making a stop on the way back for dinner. The worst part is that the air conditioner in the bus did not work at all. The temp got up to 90 in the bus and it was miserable. The driver/guide did not provide much information/history and when asked a question as to what we were doing next, the reply was "I don't know". She also did not take an accurate count of the number of people on the bus as we had to turn back after driving toward Yosemite after our first stop because she forgot 1 person. Memorial Day weekend is not the time to go. The road in the park was extremely crowded. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to go a mile. Also the park is understaffed, all the restrooms were in horrible condition. Would highly recommend seeing Yosemite, but would book a different tour company other than Gray Line. It was an extremely long and hot ride. Got picked up at 6:40 a.m. and got back to our hotel around 11:50 p.m. Just glad I got back safely as the driver was driving very fast the entire time.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed Yosemite. Please note that the full itinerary, including scheduled stops, is available on the booking page. We apologize for the issues you experienced during transportation and appreciate you bringing them to our attention.

Great experience full day Yosemite Park

Great tour. Had an amazing time in the bus, very pleasant journey. Stopped at a fruit stand and then in Oakdale while getting there. Make sure you dress accordingly to the weather and download offline google maps. Saw coyote walking about and a lost bear cub on our stop for El capitan picture. Please carry cash for the gratuities tip since the driver or the tour guide only accepts cash. Overall a good day it took us 15 hours

Operator response

Thank you for your great review! We’re so glad you had an amazing experience and enjoyed the journey. We truly appreciate your helpful tips for future travelers!
