A truly fascinating and highly recommended tour that brings to life the untold, often-forgotten stories of the remarkable working-class women who helped shape the East End of London. We visited the places where these women fought to improve working conditions and build a safer, more equal world. Our guide Becky was knowledgeable and engaging, bringing these extraordinary women's stories to life in a way that was both easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyable.
Enthusiatic, feminist, inspiring and very well researched!
Walking through a part of London new to me and only hearing stories and histories of women is my new favorite thing. The tour is well researched and expertly told. Women's stories need to be shared again and again and Women of London is doing their part towards this goal.
Within 10 minutes of the start of this tour I knew it was going to be fantastic and I'd be signing up to do all the tours! Becky was a wonderful guide for our group including my 19 year old daughter. So much fascinating detail delivered in a really accessible way - Becky knows her stuff but more importantly she is a great storyteller with the ability to pick out just the right amount of detail at each spot and then answer follow-up questions when you want to know more. What a wonderful way to spend a damp drizzly March Sunday morning. Highly recommend.
Excellent! Inspiring stories! Historical context and information re each woman featured. Engaging guide! Would book again!
Emily was a superstar guide. She was knowledgeable, interesting, professional and fun. She cared a lot about her work and the history and women she told us about.4 friends and we all rated this experience as a top tour we have ever done. Highly recommend!
Another great tour from Women of London (this was our second). Getting away from history that revolves around politicians, royals, religious and business types was a refreshing change. Also basing the tour in the East End gives it a much more diverse focus, reflecting that part of London. Becky again provided an informative commentary with poignant observations. We highly recommend the Women of London tours.
Very informative, very personable Becky our guide. Highly recommended. Much overlooked history to be learned.
We were glad to find Women of London tours to fill in the gaps left by most tours that primarily focus on men. Our guide, Becky, has a passion for women's history and told us well-researched and detailed stories that brought several fascinating women to life as we walked through the East End. Highly recommend.
Knowledgeable and very enthusiastic guide, really enjoyed the stories about different East End women, some more famous than others. Recommended!
