For an 8 hour “wine tour,” we visited a brandy distillery and only did ONE wine tasting at vineyard Entre Pedras (3 glasses). Philip was a Knowledgable and entertaining guide. We highly recommend that you include at least another 3-4 wine tastings at local vineyards to provide a proper wine tour.
We proudly call it a Wine Tour. Your idea of a wine tour is very different from ours, with us, it's not just about drinking wine – for that, go to the nearest supermarket and buy all the bottles you can find and have fun! For us, it's about telling the story of a heroic people who produce a unique wine from lava rock, a story that spans 500 years of hard work and many tears. A unique vineyard landscape, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 2004, is about letting yourself be carried away by the rhythm of the island, living each moment, savoring the local cuisine where all products are fresh and organic – ultimately, it's about letting yourself be surprised by the magic of Pico Island. Thank you for your visit.
Great trip with an excellent guide and best organization. 100% recommendation from us!

Our day with Phillip was fantastic! It was an amazing cross section of island and Azores history, wines, vineyards, brandy distillery, lunch at a locals restaurant, and great conversations. He is such a friendly and affable host and guide. Highly recommend!

This tour is called a vineyard tour, but it was not so much a visit to a winery as a chance to see the sights and history of Pico Island. The view from the eastern botanical garden and the green landscape are impressive. It was nice to see the flowers of Hydrangea and camellias that came from my country and Japan. We enjoyed a short hike around the unique vineyards of Pico Island for wine at key points. We enjoyed tasting at a winery facing the sea. It seems that young people are brewing here and exporting it to Japan. There are many rough roads where the vineyards are located on the island, and this time the tour was in a rather tough Land Rover. As it is a small island, we were able to relax around the place, and had lunch at the local port canteen with a delicious buffet and Pico white wine. Philip, our guide and driver, was knowledgeable and a good driver, so I could travel with peace of mind. Thank you very much.

We signed up for this tour excited to sample legendary Pico wines, and it exceeded our expectations in several ways. First, Filipe is a great guide that made it so much more than a wine tour with his welcoming and engaging manner, his incredible knowledge of Pico, and his plethora of personal anecdotes. He really made us feel bonded to Pico, and we found ourselves missing Pico as we explored other Azorean isles. Second, the itinerary was extremely well considered. The sightseeing was excellent and served as a good way to pace things in between drinking, and the conversation felt more like old friends spending the day sharing stories than a tour. Third, the spectacular dry whites were everything we had hoped they would be, but we also surprised ourselves by how much we enjoyed the stop at the distillery and the outstanding lunch replete with local cuisine (and more wine, of course). Strongly recommend this tour. We still miss Pico.

Superior tour with Gabrielle. He is as personable as he is knowledgeable. Took us to places we would never see otherwise, all of them wonderous. Highly recommend this tour and if you are fortunate to get Gabrielle as a driver you will be in for a treat.

We loved the vineyard route, the Adega de Sant’Ana (Thanks Cesar), the wine tasting and the lunch break. The kidness and the knowledge of our guide Filipe will make us do another meeting in the future, we promise to come back with a bottle of French wine ! Many thanks. Valérie et Jean-Marc CHEVALIER
Glad to read that the experience exceeded your expectations. Thank you for visiting us and also for your fantastic review! We look forward to your next visit and this bottle of French wine. 😁
I was wondering about the cost of the Wine Tour. When you live the experience, you understand. What hard ploughs live the workers on the ground, the producers often in uncertainty, all these basalt walls that complicate the movements... The cost is worth it! And what about the Filipe Guide who created his Enterprise Terralta Nature Tours; a dedicated person, in love with his island, proud and above all, who answers ALL questions of geo, history, tradition, culture. I loved the restaurant for dinner where we could taste different typical dishes of the island, then the tasting was unique. Thank you Filipe:-)
Nous sommes ravis de lire que votre expérience a dépassé vos attentes. Merci de votre visite et pour votre excellent avis!
