Whale and dolphin watching in Pico Island

This is the place to go for whale watching while on Pico Island! The entire staff and crew were equally as friendly as they were passionate about the sea and ocean wildlife. The tour guides consistently reiterated the importance of being ethical and keeping a safe distance away from other boats. We learned so much about the different species of whales and dolphins before, during, and after our tour as well. We saw 6 different species during our trip, including the rare sighting of a northern bottlenose whale! Seeing the excitement and enthusiasm of the crew when noticing this rare-to-see species was the epitome of the Azores authentic vibe, and appreciation of the beautiful world around us.

This visit will remain etched in our memories, we were able to observe a family of sperm whales, 3 kinds of dolphins, with kind guides, listening and who are there to answer your questions. I highly recommend you to make this discovery with them!

We had an amazing whale watching experience. We saw three types of whales - pilot, sei, and sperm whales. Plus we also saw spotted dolphins. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. I couldn’t recommend this more.

Incredible experience but prepare to get seasick and don’t wear the big rain ponchos you’re given. Better to be wet than overheated

Despite being late, we were warmly and friendly received. The crew radiated enthusiasm and love for the animals, and knew how to tell us beautiful stories along the way. We saw both dolphins and whales – truly breathtaking! The boat felt safe and comfortable. We were given a life jacket and also jackets in case it rained. A moment to remember. Absolutely recommended!
