Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, and King Charles III loves to spend his weekends in this stunning fortress. Built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror, the castle is still a favorite residence of the royal family. Pay the castle a visit and find out why our royals have lived here for centuries!
Take a look inside the heart of the working palace – the State Apartments. Regularly used for ceremonial and official occasions, the Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection. During the winter months the richly decorated Semi-State Rooms are added to the visitor route.
Specially built for Queen Mary by leading British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens in the 1920’s St George’s Chapel is an imposing Gothic building and the resting place for a number of British monarchs. The Changing of the Guard This rousing, truly British ceremony takes place at 11.00am.
Hampton Court Palace is a story of two palaces: a Tudor palace magnificently developed by Cardinal Wolsey and later Henry VIII, alongside a Baroque palace built by William III and Mary II. Henry VIII had more than 60 houses, but none were more important to him, nor more sumptuously decorated, than Hampton Court Palace. Today you can visit Henry’s Apartments, see his stunningly recreated Imperial Crown in the Royal Pew before sneaking below stairs to visit his vast Tudor Kitchens where 200 cooks, sergeants, grooms and pages worked to produce over 800 meals a day for the hungry household. The Magic Garden Discover a self-contained family focused walled garden with every feature designed to be climbed upon, including a jousting arena, tiltyard towers and a fire breathing dragon. An outdoor delight for children and families introducing history through play whilst engaging with nature. This tour lasts a total of 7 hours. 4 hours exploring these 2 sites and 3 hours for the journey.

We had an excellent driver who arrived promptly and had a lovely vehicle. This private tour took us to two castles where we were given headsets at the sites and given a timeframe for each visit. The driver did point out sites of interest as we drove to each site.
