Itinerary
The Christ Church (or Christuskirche) is a Lutheran church in centre of Windhoek, and has become one of the most iconic landmarks for the city. Here you will have the chance to learn about the fascinating history of this church, and time permitting, look inside.
One of the most beautiful (and green) gardens in Windhoek lies at the base of the Tintenpalast, Namibia's Parliament Building in the city centre. The gardens itself are now home to 3 statues of iconic who were instrumental in gaining Namibia's independence. Here you can learn more about these important Namibians, as well as the current political processes that are shaping modern day Namibia.
A recent addition to the Namibian skyline, the National Museum of Namibia, is home to a rich collection of artifacts from colonial to modern day Namibia.
This old fort is said to be Windhoek's very first building, and was used by the German army to defend their hold on the city. In more recent times, it was a museum, but now stands empty, however it's rich history still make it worth a visit.
Explore the township of Katutura, visit the local market and meet the local people
Finish up the tour with a stop at Penduka, a craft project designed to uplift and inspire the local women to support themselves and their families. It's also a great chance to buy some souvenirs or gifts before returning home.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Julio was good fun and very knowledgeable. We went to a variety of places and all were interesting. Definitely recommended.
I booked this on a whim without doing much research and was so pleasantly surprised by this tour. It was amazing! Such a variety of places, interesting history, culture. A fantastic mix of all the different aspects of the city. Julio our guide was amazing, so knowledgeable and passionate. Definitely do this if you only have 1 day in Windhoek!
We had the most brilliant time with Julio. Incredibly passionate, insightful and hospitable. Really feel like we had a taste of the real Namibia, both learning about the history but also the places we visited
Our guide, Julio, has a great knowledge of the history of Namibia which helped to bring the tour alive. For me the highlight was visiting the market and township of Katutura, and sampling some of the food and spices in the market. The nearby Penduka village is a very inspiring project with good quality art and crafts for sale.
.Excellent way to see the newer buildings of downtown Windhoek mixing new designs with repurposing of colonial era structures. We started at the oldest church in Windhoek and ventured to the old fort being turned into a museum. We saw the main train station and visited a community food market in Katutura where we tasted locally barbequed beef. It was so delicious we bought a small packet of the spices used on the meat. Our final stop was the Penduka women’s manufacturing initiative. Julio was an excellent guide and driver who provided interesting facts about his city and the history.
Excellent guided tour of Windhoek. Julio, the guide, narrated great facts about the history and status of Windhoek and Namibia. We stopped at major landmarks and neighborhoods, including the nice Oshetu local market where we tasted local delicacies.
Great tour by Julio!! He was very professional, passionate and well-informed. I’d recommend this tour to everyone who is interested in the city of Windhoek - it’s history, culture and politics.
We saw the main sights in Windhoek and learned a bit about them. We also drove through the slums - what an experience! And of course, it ended in Penduka. There isn't much more in Windhoek......
It was a two day tour to coastal area in Namibia.
You learn a lot about the history of Namibia and get to see a lot of amazing architecture, their history and how this history is preserved. The visit of Katutura was confronting on many levels but I was glad that it was part of the tour. What made this tour so recommendable was Julio, our guide. His knowledge was amazing and his passion for Namibia was palpable. I felt very fortunate to have had him as out guide
