Great experience on this tour. Petrus was fantastic and had a wonder personality. Enjoyed the historical sites and history, but really the highlight was visiting the Township Katutura. IMHO, a must see.

We had an amazing experience with Pedrus. He took us around Windhoek, showing us the city’s most interesting landmarks while sharing fascinating stories about its history, culture, and the daily life of the local people. Petrus was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and passionate about his country. He answered every question with great detail and made the entire tour both informative and enjoyable. The hotel pick-up and drop-off were perfectly on time, and throughout the tour we always felt very safe. We had the opportunity to see the local market which is a truly interesting experience, where you can see how local people live or even try some food. I booked this tour on very short notice this morning as I realized I was free until the afternoon and didn’t want to just spend that time at the hotel. The Kavana Tour company happily accommodated me, and I spent the morning being shown Windhoek and the Township by Petrus, who was an absolutely outstanding guide. This was my first full day in Namibia, and I felt I learned so much this morning about Windhoek and Namibia’s major sites and some of the very important history. I particularly liked that this was not only a tour of the city of Windhoek and its sites, but we spent significant time in the township. And without the context of the township and its history and culture, I feel like I would not have gotten a full understanding of Windhoek as the township is actually where the majority of the Windhoek population lives. Once again, I cannot recommend Petrus enough. He could answer any question and I really loved the itinerary and all the information he shared that I wouldn’t have even known to ask about. And I loved how much was packed into three and half hours. I am so glad I chose to spend my morning this way. I already could tell Windhoek was a welcoming city when I arrived, but the tour made me realize that I still underestimated how nice the city and township are. I travel not just to see sites but to try to get a little more knowledge of other places, and I know this relatively short outing will inform my whole time in Namibia.

I booked the Windhoek city tour on short notice when I found I was free until the afternoon. Kavana Tours were able to get me on the 9am tour with Petreus, who was a wonderful guide. I wasn’t quite sure how it would go, but it far exceeded my expectations. I appreciate the tour covered the Katutura Township with just as much attention as the city. This was my first full day in Namibia and in Windhoek, and I was able to learn so much about the history and important sites. And given it was less than four hours, I particularly liked how much I learned about daily life in Windhoek and Katutura.
