A week before our trip, they requested photos of our passports. Now, I know many of you might hesitate, wondering, ‘Is it safe to send passport photos?’ To save you the Google search—yes, if the tour company is reputable, this is a normal process. They need government permission to take you to certain destinations, and this was handled professionally and securely. Our adventure began with the kindest driver, who picked us up directly from our hotel and took us to the desert. The drive itself was smooth and enjoyable (though fair warning—driving in Egypt is not for the faint-hearted! Traffic lines seem more like suggestions than rules, haha). But our driver was fantastic—skilled, thoughtful, and fully prepared with snacks, water, and multiple restroom breaks at clean washrooms (this will be important later when I compare another tour we took to Luxor). Simply unforgettable. Our guides prepared everything with love, and it was, without a doubt, the best meal we had in Egypt. Waking up to the sight of tiny desert fox tracks outside our tent—knowing we had a little nighttime visitor—was the perfect way to start our morning. We were then treated to an amazing, freshly prepared breakfast before heading back to Cairo for our Pyramids tour, making for a truly unforgettable end to this incredible adventure. We loved our guides so much that we booked another tour with them the very next day, and they went above and beyond to accommodate us again.
