My son and I were incredibly pleased with our tour...and we were soo thankful we saw the whales😄 Everything went seamlessly and it was an incredible experience. Hayley, with Go That Way was absolutely amazing....she was soooo generous, friendly, knowledgeable and we had such a great time with her traveling to and from Hemanus!!! She was always concerned about pur comfort!! I will definitely come back to see more whales during mating season and will definitely seek out Go That Way for my transportation needs. THANK YOU for teh experience on a lifetime🫶🫶
Very well organizer and helpful.the Ocean cost of Hermanus its Amazing A Great exeperience with a lovely guide, thanks.
It was a pleasure to host you. Hope to see you again The Go That Way Team
Good experience. Martin was great. Saw 3 whales and the crew was experienced to get us through the turbulent weather.. Pick up and drop off was great
Thank you for your feedback. Its a pity the weather was not better.
We were picked up by Martin from our hotel, Martin was wonderful, a very friendly and kind person. He drove us from Cape Town to Hermanus and back. I cannot praise Martin highly enough. Unfortunately Martin was the only highlight of the trip. Once we boarded the boat, we set off to find whales. With no sound system onboard, when the guide was speaking, those of us at the back of the boat could not hear a word of what was being said. When we spotted whales, the boat was immediately turned around so that the whale was on the right of the boat. Every time a whale was spotted, the boat was turned so that it was on the right hand side of the boat. I have done many whale watching experiences all over the world and it has always been normal for the boat to be turned around during a sighting so that both sides of the boat get a good view. Not here, of a whale was spotted on the right, the boat stayed still so that the whale stayed on the right. If we glimpsed a whale on the left of the boat, the boat turned so that the whale was on the right of the boat. With the seats arranged so that they faced outwards, it was very difficult for those of us on the left hand side of the boat to see anything. The sea was especially choppy, which made it difficult to stand and view the whales. I get the sea will be the sea, but the boat operators can help out by turning the boat to allow everyone a chance to see the whales, not just the ones fortunate enough to have sat on the right of the boat. I do not feel like this tour provided value for money in the slightest.
I am sorry that you boat trip was not the best for you. I will assure you though that I will contact the skipper and give feedback of your experience. Please contact me if ever you are in Capetown again and we will offer you another trip at our expense. Martin is not our only guide ... we have a great team that always does their best for our clients.
A wonderful day. Martin, the driver was very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The whale watching trip was great and we saw whales up close in pretty rough seas. To confirm what other reviews have said - the transport was in a lovely minivan (just 2 of us) but the boat is licensed to take 81 passengers, there was about 50 on it today. The trip is advertised as 2 hours but we were back in the harbour after 90 minutes which was a shame (but the sea was rough and it was cold and windy). On the way back to Cape Town we had an hour in Hermanus ( small interesting museum about the whales), and stopped of to see the Bettys Bay penguins and other sea birds and then also stopped at the Cheetah Outreach/sanctuary which was well worth a short visit. All in all, a great day.
I had good time … Martin our driver was amazing and very friendly.. he even got me my hat that flew off the cliff .. very grateful ❤️❤️
Amazing day - from our fabulous driver to the the lovely solo ladies I met on the day! Weather was a bit choppy but we saw whales from just a few minutes in the boat and throughout, plus seals and even penguins! Saw whales breaching in the distance from the boat and the shore - just incredible!
Unbelievable experience with the Southern Right Whales! Wonderful crew also enjoying these magnificent and curious creatures.
Thoroughly recommended. Great, informative and friendly driver. Lovely drive through the mountains to Hermanus. Several whale sightings, including mother and calf only 6m from the boat. Food and drink at the recommended restaurant, Lemonicious, was good especially the view from second floor, where you can glimpse more whales in the distance.
A Big Yes!! Guide was so friendly and willing to help us on a boattrip we didnt book in advance. On top of that: we saw whales 2 meters from our boat.
Happy you enjoyed your trip. Please don't hesitate to contact us when you visit our beautiful city.
