A typical Madeiran fishing village. Winston Churchill enjoyed painting landscapes here. Enjoy a morning coffee watching the fisherman with their days work.
A 580m glass platform suspended on a sea cliff. Stunning coastal views. From March 2023 a €2 fee per person is charged here.
A coastal municipality with a small river running through the centre towards the sea. Enjoy a stroll around this local area taking in the surroundings, you will find cafes, shops and a small market lining the sea front.
Small coastal municipality on the nothern coast. Surrounded by lush mountainous forest valleys, you will find a very picturesque chruch here.
We will take the scenic route through the coastal roads of Seixal on our journey to Porto Moniz. Hopefully to see some of the roadside waterfalls.
The highlight of the trip; natural volcanic swimming pools. Bring along swimwear *Entry around €3. If not swimming, plenty of cafes for Sangria by the sea.

I pick up from all hotels in Funchal and from the cruise terminal. The start of the tour can be decided after booking, based on your preference or the cruise arrival time. *Pickup only from Funchal area. Pick up outside of Funchal area is extra fee, let's discuss this in a private message.

This was great. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the island, took time where we needed it and was super flexible and helpful. This tour was a great way to see the island and get acclimated. Totally recommend it.
Diogo was an outstanding tour guide. We had already done the East Madeira tour and Sunrise at Pico do Arieiro tour with him so we booked the West Madeira tour & Porto Moniz with him. He was very informative and told us to bring bathing suits. We went to all of the following beautiful places: Camara de Lobas, Cabo Girao, Ribeira Brava, Fanal Forest, Ribeira da Janela, Sao Vicente and last Porto Moniz & volcanic pools. Diogo was an excellent driver and always advised us of what to wear and where we could find excellent food. He went beyond being a tour guide. He took my daughters to a special hiking trail. He also was able to get us to the airport on the day we left. I have traveled quite a bit so I must say if you are going to Madeira you must contact Diogo!
We had a wonderful full day tour with Ricardo. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the island and provided us with a lot of information. We had provided an itinerary ahead of the tour for the items we wanted to visit / see, and not only did we hit all of those, but we were able to go to extra sights that Ricardo recommended and really made the tour valuable. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madeira.
We had an AMAZING day with Diogo! Our family of 3 saw what felt like the entire island. We also learned so much about the local history and traditions, and saw so many beautiful, diverse landscapes. Diogo was super knowledgeable and engaging even for our 9-year old. He knew all the best stops for us to take some amazing photos. Everything was very smooth and flexible. We cannot recommend highly enough booking with Diogo while in Madeira.
We had three separate full day tours with Diogo and Ricardo who are brothers. They tailored our tours to meet our wishes. We wanted to have plenty of time to walk and experience the beauty of Madeira at our own pace. We wanted lunch in family-owned restaurants and no gift shops. They exceeded our expectations in every way. It was great to have a professional driver. Many of the secondary roads are steep, narrow and winding. It was very relaxing to sit back and enjoy the scenery while being chauffeured around. Another advantage of being in a small van was that we could get into places the buses couldn’t. All-in-all we could not think of a nicer way to experience the beauty of Madeira. We hope you enjoy their company as much as we did.
Diogo is an exceptional guide! His communication in booking and updates prior to our tour was prompt, detailed, and helpful. Diogo picked us up at our apartment in a very clean comfortable Mercedes taxi van--ample room for our group of 5 adults. The pace was perfect...we never felt rushed at any of the sites we visited. Diogo provided just the right amount of history, culture, nature so we could fully appreciate what we were seeing and experiencing without feeling overwhelmed with too much information. He skillfully navigated some very twisty roads--we felt safe and at ease. I would not hesitate to book Diogo on future trips. In fact, I would likely book him for the week next time--airport pick up/drop off, transfers to hiking trails, and of course, all the things we didn't see on this trip! Hiring a guide like Diogo instead of relying on Bolt/Uber/Buses, or renting a car makes sense. Reliable and professional, working with your preferred timeline, and no stress! 10/10
On our recent trip to Madeira we were greeted at the airport by Diogo’s brother, Ricardo, who waiting for us with a sign at the airport. He was friendly and welcoming and nice to deal with after a long flight from Toronto. While my husband and I love hiking and enjoyed many hikes in Madeira, we also took some down days where we chose to hire Diogo for 1.5 days- one day to tour Western Madeira and the other to go to Nun’s Valley which was beautiful and we were able to do an hour hike there. Diogo was professional, friendly, flexible with our schedule, and made great suggestions for us. He came highly recommended from some of our Canadian friends who had toured with him last year and we are so glad we booked with him. We learned lots and were able to relax in his comfy vehicle and let him navigate our route and the busy parking lots along the way. This took all the stress out of touring around! Thanks, Diogo!
