It was an amazing tour. Leo, my sommelier had an excellent knowledge regarding the winery and wines. He explained very nicely while taking me through the Wachau Valley. Along with him, Christian, he made the drive very comfortable. I would definitely recommend to do this tour with them.
My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic private tour day with Leo. First, Leo and Christian (our driver) picked us up promptly at our hotel door. The large passenger van was clean, roomy and luxurious. Along the approximately one hour ride, Leo educated us on the Wachau Valley wines and Vienna in general. Leo is exceptionally knowledgeable about wine in general and the beautiful wines from this previously unknown (to us) area. We enjoyed several stops at family owned vintners with no pressure to buy. Absolutely everything was included, including some wonderful local specialty dishes. If you’d like to sit back, enjoy some great wines and leave the driving to someone else, this is a great way to do it. I will seek out Leo and this company when we make a return trip to Vienna!
The stunningly beautiful Wachau valley is a must-see day trip from Vienna, and the wine is sublime. To travel there with a driver and a top sommelier is an extraordinary opportunity, and for us it felt like a lifetime memory being made in the moment. Leo is a deeply knowledgeable sommelier but he’s also an exceptional host, gracious yet affable. He worked in the terraces of Wachau back in the day, and knows the winemakers well. Meeting them over a carefully selected flight is an insider’s delight. Plus, it feels like magic because he keeps his work invisible. Everything just unfolds perfectly. You’re in for an amazing trip.
A great experience with great explanations u great food establishments and top wineries
From the first contact to the return, a great tour for anyone who wants to learn more about Austrian wine. Each stop is a highlight, the wines are superbly selected and with Leo you have an internationally experienced sommelier at your side, who with a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm makes the day an unforgettable experience. We are looking forward to a next time!
While we were in Vienna, we wanted to experience the city and the region, and the Wachau Velley Wine Tour was perfect! We were picked up from our hotel and were quickly in the countryside along the Danube River. Our guide Leo, having spent time working in the region earlier in his career, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and the art / science of making great wine. We learned a ton and had a lot of fun. Also tasted many great wines that we now have at home! We even visited a beautiful monastery on the way back to the city. We would have been wise (based on the time of year) to bring warmer clothing as some of the tour is spent outside learning about the winemaking process.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience on our Wachau Valley Wine Tour! It's great to hear you enjoyed getting out into the countryside, learning from Leo’s deep knowledge of the region and winemaking, tasting wines you even took home, and visiting the monastery on the way back. And yes, good tip about packing something warm for those outdoor vineyard moments. We’d be very happy to welcome you back on another adventure from Vienna. All the best, Wolfy & the Wolfy’s Adventures team
