Outstanding tour, so much history and beautiful sites. Vesuvius was incredible walk up was hard but worth it. Best tour guides
Our tour guide was Jenni. We were picked up at our cruise port around 9:50 and driven by bus with 2 other couples to the local train station. For the next 50 minutes we sat there with no explanation as families, couples and other folks boarded the bus during that time. It was a completely packed bus. Next we were driven to Vesuvius and given 1.5 hours to hike up and down. Our guide sat in the bus and did not come with us. The hike up doesn’t last long but is incredibly steep - be aware. It was absolutely worth it - the view was amazing. Next we boarded the bus and waited an additional 20 minutes for the elderly and families with young children to make their way down the volcano. We were told we were making a stop for 10 minutes to visit a lemon farm stand. It was more like 30 mins but was worth it. I purchased some lemon gin which was amazing. The owners were very helpful and entertaining. Next we boarded the bus for a 45 minute ride to the city of Pompeii for a ‘quick’ lunch. It was a pizza place and the food was very good, however, our tour guide disappeared without warning and didn’t return until an hour later. We were very antsy to get going to the ruins because we had to be back to the ship by 5:30 and now it was 3pm. We finally went to the ruins tour which we had to cut incredibly short due to needing to catch our separate shuttle at 4:20. Our tour guide (Genni) keep telling us it was only 20 mins to the port, however the Pompeii guide told us it was closer to 35 mins. Google maps had it at 45 mins. We came out of the ruins at the meeting time and Genni was very slow and lacked a sense of urgency to get our shuttle called. So much so that I began pricing flights to meet our cruise at the next port if we missed it. Our shuttle driver was great and although the traffic was insane he knew a back route and got us there at 5:15. I believe that much of our day was wasted waiting for families and Genni. He did not seem to enjoy being a guide and for the price we paid for this day (256 dollars for 2) we expected to have a lengthy time in Pompeii. I highly recommend seeing the volcano and Pompeii, but I can’t recommend this tour specifically because we were very disappointed by the time wasted and the lack of time at Pompeii.
Hi We are disappointed of it We offer the best to our guests Shared tour you have to ho flexible and we organize the best to give you opportunity to visit it
Pompei and Vesuvius were well worth the tour. The transport arrangements could have been smoother but staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent tour of Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius. Our host was very nice and let us know what was happening the whole time. The tour guide at Pompeii was extremely knowledgeable and quite funny. Of course, the view from the top of Mt Vesuvius is unmatched. Highly recommend.
Pompeii was amazing, also climbing to Vesuvio crater is unforgetable, Pickup was on time as planned, The trip is highly recommended
Amazing views, interesting places, Pompai is an enormus area a lot of food work, vesuvio you have to climb a little but not to much
Hi thank you. We appreciated it . Have a nice day
There were two of us and we booked the tour. It was important to us to have a guided tour and not have to worry about anything. Giuseppe contacted us via WhatsApp the day before departure. Apparently there were problems with the number of participants, which is why he tried to postpone our tour, but unfortunately this was not possible for us. So he offered us a private tour for an additional charge of €100. Private tour to Vesuvius and guided tour of Pompeii in English - great!, I thought and accepted the additional charge of €100. The next morning Vincenzo contacted us via WhatsApp and picked us up at the agreed location at 9:00 sharp. The van was 5/5 and clean. Vincenzo was very friendly and drove us to Vesuvius first. On the way there he explained a lot to us about the islands and what we saw on the trip. At Vesuvius he took care of our entry when the internet failed there. We walked to Vesuvius as a couple and had a great time - there was no guide and we didn't need one. We then went back to the van and after lunch (great pizza!) Vincenzo drove us to Pompei, where he gave us the tickets. I was a bit confused that there was no guide and contacted Giuseppe. He said I could get a guide on site for around €20 per person. Since there was an app and I didn't want to wait for a guide or organize one, we went without one. Tip: The app with the audio guide is useless. We had a great time in Pompei and I asked Vincenzo via Whatsapp when we should be back. He said in 40 minutes. It's a shame, but it must be like that and we were back after 40 minutes. Vincenzo was already there and drove us safely home. At 3:36 p.m. we were at the agreed location and I was a little disappointed that we could have stayed longer in Pompei. Conclusion: For €360 we got the following: Organization 5/5 Accessibility 5/5 Travel: 5/5 Car: 5/5 Guide 0/5 (no guide) Time management: 2/5 (6:36 hours instead of approx. 8 hours)
I expect the view would have been fab - if there was one! Sadly we were in heavy mist. Ho-hum! The toilets in the lower shops are a disgrace. So much more could be developed to slicken up the venue with a visitor centre to be proud of. Pompii was great, and possibly deserves a whole day for itself. This trip maybe sounds like you are getting more than you actually do - you get a driver - not a guide. He was very accommodating and drove like the wind as they do which in itself is part of the experience, I feel. Advice: get a guide for Pompii, bring own water - you have to buy some at 2Eu (double) in order to use the disgusting loos at Vesuvius.
This was advertised as a tour but essentially it’s simply a driver. Antonio was nice but didn’t speak a word of English - everything was done via Google translate. The tour said English guide - no guide just a driver. We were picked up from our hotel, driven to Mt Vesuvius handed tickets, pointed in the direction to go then told where to meet the diver after we climbed the volcano. Next we were driven to Pompeii handed tickets again and told where to meet the driver after we’d finished. No guide, no direction from anyone regarding what to do, where to go???? Finally we were driven back to the hotel.
Hi My driver is great I made the best to you, in the morning my driver didn’t feel better so I changed the driver and I made the best to give you the opportunity to spend good time I’m disappointed for this review We have a lot of reservations every day and make happy our guests
We had a lovely day and were really well taken care of by our guide. The climb up Mt. vesuvius was do worth it for the view. Pompeii is lovely to wander around and explore Our guide was a gentleman who took time to chat with us about the locality and give us a few hints and tips for places go see and where the best pizza is! He wasn't wrong. Definitely worth the money.
