Our guide was very nice, but the tour was unfortunately a very uncomfortable experience for me and my two children. For us it felt like a classic tourist rip-off. We were led specifically into stores where products were offered at completely overpriced prices. Although we didn't feel rudely treated, we still felt pressured to buy something. The overall situation was very uncomfortable. After all, we stopped the tour prematurely because we couldn't stand it anymore. Ironically, I used to always laugh at people who buy overpriced papyrus paintings – and in the end, I have become the owner of such a work myself.

Our full day tailor-made tour was incredible. John took us to GEM, old Cairo and the Mummy Museum. He arranged our lunch which was a wonderful Egyptian experience. He couldn't have been more helpful. His knowledge of Egyptology was remarkable. We can well recommend him to anyone.
