Vienna Coffee, Cake & Pastries Tour with Local Stories

Description
Your Vienna food tour starts with a visit to a family-owned bakery in Vienna’s 10th district. From our meeting point of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, we’ll ride the subway over to this very local, multicultural neighborhood. Here, you’ll sample one of our favorite local treats: krapfen, which is a jam-filled doughnut sprinkled with sugar. These pastries are popular year-round, but especially so leading up to Lent. Next, take the subway to the 4th district, to visit a little-known coffee house. This place may not be famous, but its Austrian cakes and strudels are absolutely delicious. Finally, we’ll visit Vienna’s famous Naschmarkt, where we’ll sample some handmade Austrian chocolates before finishing our Vienna tour with a drink at a hipster hangout in the 7th district. This Vienna food tour varies with the seasons, but some treats you may get on your tour include palatschinken (jam-filled crepes), marillenknödel (apricot dumplings), gugelhupf (bundt cake), and/or Austrian ice cream.

Outstanding tour conducted by Christoph that included many stops for food and drinks while exploring different communities across Vienna. In addition to the excellent food choices we also had the opportunity to visit a couple Vienna food markets and street food vendors that were full of delicious offerings. Christoph was an excellent guide and exceeded all our expectations!
This experience would be fun for all ages!
Wolfi is genuinely invested in his guests having a good time and experiencing Vienna in an authentic way. I’d definitely recommend this activity.
We had a wonderful tour with Maria exploring several great eateries with local histories and connections. All of the sites are outside the touristy center of Vienna, and there’s a very helpful tutorial on public transportation throughout. And while there are plenty of pastries and cakes, there is also a savory stop at the end which means you will NOT need to have a dinner. Very good mix of restaurants and local foods. Charming and welcoming guide. A highlight of our Vienna experience. Highly recommend!
If you want to learn about authentic Viennese cuisine then this tour is perfect for you. Maria was a wonderful guide showing us the various desserts and coffee from Vienna. We finished at a very typical restaurant and had an amazing dinner. Maria was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. We highly recommend her.
My 21 year old son and I spent a lovely afternoon with Maria enjoying a truly one-of-a-kind tour of Vienna's coffee, pastries, chocolate, wine, dinner and ice cream exploring many districts and discovering hidden gems we would never have found without her and Wolfi's Adventures. We walked and caught the U-Bahn and Maria was an absolute delight. She was very knowledgeable about Vienna, the city's food, history, transport and everyday life and very kind to answer all our questions. We really appreciated her and Wolfi letting us book in at the last minute before we left Vienna. This was without a doubt our favourite experience during our 3 day trip to Vienna and one of the best tours we've ever done. A must-do experience we highly recommend!
This was a very fun tour going to several of the districts in Vienna seeing some very cool coffee houses and sampling goodies. I shouldn't really call it sampling as we had lovely portions of a lot of food. So much so we were stuffed but enjoyed every last bit. Even a nice glass of wine with dinner. I would highly recommend this foodie tour if you are interested in using the excellent public transportation in Vienna and tasting some wonderful food.
I booked the Coffee, Cake and Pastries Tour. I was the only one booked on the tour and they proceeded with just me anyway. I was super grateful and it says something about how reliable and personal the service is. Maria was my guide and she was attentive and so, so knowledgable. Every spot she took me to was amazing. I couldn’t fault a single thing. I tried some cakes and pastries that I would never have known about or thought to try. I had the best food in Vienna on this tour! I’d highly recommend this company - the tour was the highlight of Vienna for me - and rounded off with a write up of all the places we went to and further recommendations. Phenomenal - thank you!
I don’t know what I was expecting going into this tour with Maria, but she exceeded all expectations! When you go on a food tour, you expect the food to be good, and each stop provided a delicious example of what makes Venice such a special culinary place. What made the tour extraordinary were the places Maria chose for us. Each stop taught me something about what it would be like to be a resident in Vienna, both now and in the past. Maria’s personality and knowledge made us feel comfortable and informed-truly a delightful person!! Just can’t say enough about it!
I booked this cafe and pastry shop tour based on the company reviews. I had no idea what I to expect. Maria exceeded all expectations! I was hoping to learn a little about the food culture in Vienna and to enjoy a few desserts. Marie clearly curated her restaurant stops very carefully. We felt like we were true locals. We saw how and why Vienna is famous for coffee and pastries. Each stop was a beautiful and meaningful experience. Along with learning about the culture the food choices were impeccable. Do not eat before doing this tour. She did not provide small bites. We sampled many, many different types of delicacies and the tour ended with a full dinner. Come hungry! Maria herself was one of the most lovely people. We were immediately comfortable with her as though she was someone we knew forever. I highly recommend this tour!!
