This walk combines Vienna’s Old Town with 5 selected Christmas markets to create a coherent and charming picture of the city in Christmas season. The focus lies not only on the markets themselves. Over the course of three hours, the tour provides a structured overview of key locations of the city, major historical developments and the role of Advent in present-day Vienna. The route leads through the Old Town and connects it with five carefully selected Christmas markets. The emphasis is not only on atmosphere, but also on context: how Advent fits into the city, how it is experienced today and how these traditions have evolved over time. The tour is deliberately calm, clearly structured and conducted in a small group. It is intended for visitors who would like not only to experience Vienna in winter, but to understand it more deeply. After the walk, the city during Advent becomes easier to interpret and further explore in a more informed way.

I booked this guide as I new I would be arriving early in the day before meeting my travel group. I wanted to take full advantage of the extra time to see the Christmas markets that Vienna Austria had to offer. When I arrived Moritz was my guide and informed me I was the only one who signed up so it was going to be a private tour. We had so much fun! We went to so many Christmas markets and walked around for three hours. It would have been four but I could not do the extra hour as I had no slept in 24 hours. But considering I did well holding on that long. We stopped at each and Moritz was so inviting and excited to tell me everything about his city and the sites. We covered a lot of ground with food, history, sites all over the city within walking distance. I cannot thank him enough for the patience, being so attentive and making me love his city as much as he does! I highly recommend this tour and this guide for Vienna, Austria Christmas market experience and with a ton of history thrown in. Exceptional!

Just arrived in the city and this was the perfect way to begin. Walked through all the markets whilst learning about the history of the country. We saw churchs/ museums / statues which allowed us to get a complete overview of the city and to decide what to go back and see. A wonderful informative guide who was happy to accommodate any particular interests or wishes. Cannot recommend highly enough!! 10/10 !!
